theres a hack on vbhackers that i would like ported over to 3.5.3 if possible. is there a way to do this myself. can anyone point me in the right direction? if not can a coder help. this hack would be just what i need. ive been looking for something similar but cant find it. please help thanks

I suggest you ask there, i don't know if their copyright statement would allow distributing the code to other (vb.org) sites.

3.5.3 has a pretty good install system with the plugins and such.
I am currently thinking of a way to get rid of the template edits (since I have tons of them on my forum) but didn't get a perfect idea so far.
The simple "search and add before/after" lacks of compatibility with customized templates IMHO....

i dont think you read it right. im not trying to change the plugins or product type install. its a hack that makes what ever uploaded look like Vb.org has when coders release theyre addons.
