Installing Vb on root directory

I have a quesiton to ask those of you who install your vb on the root directory.

How do you update your vb?
Do you just overwrite them?

And, what happens if you need another directory within the root, for example, for a blog? Do you create a directory within your VB for that?

To update your vB, all you gotta do is overwrite the existing ones.
