How to: Guest view thread content only, Not replies

Hi guys,

i hope this is the appropriate section to ask this.

i've been trying to find a way to limit a guest to view only the thread but not everything else below, like the replies and etc.

This is for my features section where i'd like to put only say 10 images for the thread then for the 1st reply the full content will be shown.

is there a way to do this or is there any plugin or hack to do it??

I have a hack running, that will show the first post only, but it kills your ability to use the archive.

-may i know where do i find the hack?
-is there a way to apply it to just a particular forum/category?
-can whatever below the thread be just 1 message instead of all replies carrying the "register first" message?

Search is your friend. This site is where he got the hack. Most of the hacks for vBulletin are found on this site.

You need this: First Page of Thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=104447&highlight=show+first+post)


Read down a few posts in that thread and it tells you how to make it limit to one post. After the one post, a phrase will be displayed. Edit the phrase to say whtever you like. (Example: You need to register in order to read the replies to this question.)
