That would be sweet if someone could re-do one for 3.5.x :)

:bump: :D
I just stumbled over this thread :)
I am currently in the process of finishing a POP3/SMTP Webmailer for vB.
A live beta can be found here:
http://vbdev.area-42.net/wmail.php
(you need to register to try it - obviously, since server and login info is saved on a "per user" basis ;))
A few things still need to be done - fine tuning the templates, finishing AdminCP options and I want to add a simple adressbook before releasing it as 1.0 :)
But the current beta already handles mails pretty nicely IMO :)

It seems very good, I tested it in reading mails, but it need some optimization for template, and fixing some baeuty issues.
Cann't wait for the first release.
Thank you

:D Yeah, indeed it does....
I'm open for any sugestions :)
Once all the basic functionality, I want to have is in there, is working I'm planning on spending quite some time on going over the templates again anyway.
I want this to become a solid thing :)
I think at least when the first public beta is out we can bring the templates to vB standards with input from the community....

Please add the ability to select read, unread ... etc messages.

I must see if the POP3 protocoll supports those markings.... AFAIK it does not.
Well, I could implement that by adding a local "memory" of wich mails you have read....
What it already does is telling you how many new ones you have :)
And I am currently puzzling on a pretty simple - but somehow nice and functional - addressbook :)
[EDIT]
OK, lol, the readmarks are already working :D
As well as the addressbook :) It's a pretty simple one, like said, but does it's job quite well IMO.
I'll now spend some time with editing the templates a bit and then install a second beta on by test board for everyone to look at.
Once the templates look nice and everything seems to work I'll release a public beta for everyone to install and try by themselfs :)

Just installed beta2 :)
http://vbdev.area-42.net/wmail.php
The addressbook javascripts currently don't work in FireFox - gotta figure out how FF wants stuff to be done ;)
[EDIT]
The addressbook's javascripts are now working in FireFox as well! :)
(I updated my beta install)
So, once everything has been proven working so far, and no more suggestions are comming in I think it will soon be the time for the first public beta for every1 to install themselfs (a.k.a. RC1 :D)
(hehee, have to cleanup the code before releasing....)
Ohhh its so nice i waiting for release

It's pretty easy - and the 1.00 final has already been release as well.
And it works with 3.6 without problems (I tested myself).
