From vBulletin.com (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1065902#post1065902)

In conjunction with Skype, I am pleased to introduce SkypeWeb integration into vBulletin.

SkypeWeb allows the online status of Skype users to be viewed on web pages, and fits very nicely with vBulletin.

SkypeWeb integration will be a standard feature of the next release of vBulletin, but should you wish to gain SkypeWeb functionality on your vBulletin 3.5.3 board right away, you need simply to download the product XML file attached to this thread and install it through the product manager in your vBulletin Admin Control Panel.

Installing the next version of vBulletin when it is released will automatically remove this update product and replace it with SkypeWeb functionality from the default code and templates, so no further action will be required on your part.

You can download the file from this post (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1065902&postcount=1)

Its getting to become huge. Hell, ebay bought the Skype company. Guess what new feature will be in eBay soon?

Now, my forums always say "I'm not telling" for the user status. hummm

For this product works, you must to have Skype 2.0.0.79 installed and have edited your Skype profile for allow people viewing your status on websites.

Each member of your forum must to edit their Skype profile for this :)

I just did all that but nothing is showing up on my posts. Do the skype and forum usernames have to be the same?

If you want, but it's not an obligation :)

Thats no good. The 1.3 ver of Skype is much more stable. Plus, there is a way of getting more than 20 people in a room at once with 1.3. :)

The last version of Skype adds the SkypeWeb integration, older versions don't.

01.02.2006 version 2.0.0.79

feature: Web status
bugfix: Dialog windows now use background colors from Windows Scheme
bugfix: Accessibility: Contact mood text not in MSAA
bugfix: Can not add a PSTN contact from History
bugfix: Missing group name when hiding group
bugfix: Contactlist: sort order does not follow local collation order

Well I installed this, and now everyone has the ugly "?" in their Skype icon. Yes, so then I learn it only works for PC users with the latest version of Skype 2.0, and they have to edit their Skype profile to allow for status to be reported to websites. Fair enough. Only most of my users are on Mac.

So then I decide to uninstall.

Only when I did so, I see it's removed the previous (red) Skype icon completely. It's just a blank space now in my postbit and profiles where the static red Skype icon used to be.

How can I get my Skype icons back to the way they used to be? Or at least change the new Skype "?" icon with something not so distracting and dull?

SkypeWeb works only for Windows, this feature exists only in the Windows changelog of Skype.

I understand that completely and stated as such in my post. Since SkypeWeb does little for me, and changes all the Skype icons to a dull gray question mark, I'd simply like to revert back to the way it was before. Uninstalling the SkypeWeb product doesn't do it for me.

Just read this over here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1067615&postcount=26) :

Warning: If you remove the SkypeWeb product you will also loose the standard templates and phrases used for the skype messenger!

You have to import the default vbulletin-style.xml and vbulletin-language.xml to get the master templates / phrases back.

(The master templates / phrases are replaced with the product ones while importing it...)

I'll be doing this later. (Luckily I'm still on 3.5.3.)

At the moment the SkypeWeb (mystatus.skype.com) server is apparently having issues, so every single one of my forum thread pages are hanging.

There really should be an Admin option to turn SkypeWeb on or off, it has very much potential to be more trouble than it's worth for some forums.
