upgrade vb from 3.0 heavily modded forum to latest version.

i have a forum, maintained by my co-admin who heavily modded it with many addons and template changes, i want to upgrade to latest version asap.
i have some questions down here.

how can i preserve those old changes ?
i want to completely upgrade to latest version, confirming nothing is left out including templates, php files etc.
how can i track what addons/hacks are currently installed on my 3.0 vb forum ?

Unless you kept records it would be very hard to track what hacks you have added (other than scan all the code/templates for comments and clues). It's also quite likely that something you installed has not been converted/ported to vb 3.5.

thank you sir, i checked for known hacks/addons those have been ported over to 3.5 version (latest version).

will i loose my template changes too ?
