OK, I've searched on this and there are a few threads that seem to go nowhere. Have I missed the one where someone has achieved a good solution to this request?
What I have is two distinct boards, but with a common user base. I'd like regestration at one board to automatically create a registration at the other. It would be nice if modifications through the control panel would be automatically carried to the other board, but that's not a priority. I don't want post counts combined, as the boards have different content, (and I know this requires two licences).
Is it simply a case of duplicating the INSERT query in the registration process to update the other boards database? (Ignoring the later modification part above.) What problems might there be that I could be overlooking? Are things like signatures and avatars held in the same table as username/password? If so then I guess updating a profile at one site will automatically update it at the other, right?
Just to add I guess my setup would be two domains, although it might be one domain and seperate URLs.
ETA : Well *$@! me if I just didn't come across the thread I needed! (Didn't find it by search.)
Ignore this if it's old news.
Sorry!
