Is anybody else sick of clicking on a "new hack" only to see that it's a new user who is bumbling around in the dark and posting a question as a hack?

Why not put a post minimum that users have to meet before being able to post hacks. Something as small as 5 even would help.. It seems that each time this happens these people have less than 10 anyway.

Just a thought, but I think it would help keep the place cleaned up more. :)

No. What I'm sick of tired of is members who simply cannot just report a post that is out of place and leave it be. This happens in every forum - people post in the wrong forum. That's why us moderators exist, to move them. What helps clean this place up are nice members who just report a thread, and don't ruin a support thread by posting 'omg you posted this in the wrong forum you are idiot' and it can go for pages and pages.

Sorry about the rant, but it has to be said. Report the post that's in the wrong forum and don't post in it. That is what will clean this forum up.

There seems to be a lot of new people posting questions in the modification forums. I realize that this will happen on all forums but the bummer about it here is that when you go to the Home page to look for new mods, a portion of them are help me posts instead which takes from the already small list that's there.

Just a thought but how about putting up a splash page or something when they click New thread that explains those forums are only for modifications?

that will be done, after the upgrade to 3.5 :)

There's not much you can do, people posting in the wrong forums is bound to happen - that's why moderators exist. Just report the posts, don't reply to them and all will be fine.

I don't think something as small as 5 or 10 posts would harm anyone! Have you ever seen anybody releasing a hack with less than 10 posts;;

A handful of people have that I've seen. I see them every few days and most of the time I hit the report button.

I joined on 07 Sep 2004 and released the "Proxy ip to real ip conversion (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=69295)" three days later as my first post.

The "Display Reputation Given in UserCP (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=69296)" hack was my second post. :)
