Works well.
My forum has a "daily thread" that gets moved into a diary forum every night ... this will save me a few annoying clicks :)

Love it... this should be a standard in vbulletin and there should be a default recycle bin.
How can I put an recycle bin icon on my recycle bin forum

i have a question about this...is there a way to make it automatically soft delete the thread and then move it? The way I handle crap threads is to soft delete them so they don't count in the forum stats and then move them. Would deff be nice to beable to do all this with one click

small question...how can I allow my mods to see the move to button in the thread tools?
Snake
02-01-2006, 11:28 AM
I think it does that already.
By the way Andreas, is it possible to add a feature where we could move posts to the recycle bin forum too? That would be sweet!

that is what this does already...moves a post to the Recyle bin forum....
My mods can not see the option on the thread tools....not sure how to get them to do that.
Snake

No, it just moves threads to the recycle bin only, not posts.
And you can edit the option to display in Mod Tools by editting the required template via the acp. ;)

ok, I got you now, I did not read "post"....sorry...I overlooked what you had said.
as far as the mod tool part...not to sound to dumb...but I am not sure where to edit this in the admincp....
brvheart

I am guessing that it is in the "threadadmin_movepost" template, but not sure where to set, playing with it right now to see what I can find or screw up :/

Very Nice.... **Clicks Install**
If you do not know what Templates to edit to get this to show up on the Moderation drop down list, there is a how to file within the .zip file that tells you what to edit.

Found a bug.
When a thread is moved to the recycle bin, and moved back out to the public, if there are quotes in the title, it changes it to ;quot or something like that.

no it does allow mods to see it. Install per instructions and then make sure that you check the box in user group to allow to manage threads ;)

Awesome hack, thanks!
But I'm still not clear on how to get mods and supermods to see and use this feature.
I've looked in the Usergroup manager, and I don't see any option for this or "Allow to manage threads" Can someone be specific as to where we need to edit this option, cause I'm not seeing it anywhere, I've looked through the vboptions section as well, still not seeing it.
Thanks again!

it is in the AdminCP, usergroup manger, Supermods, Can Manage Threads Yes...
do you have the restrict supermods permission hack installed as well? If not you may not see this option...

ravenes,
I really appreciate you helping point out exactly what page, but that is exactly where I've been looking?
Attached is a screenshot of that page with all the permissions for supermods. There is no such option?
Do you have any other suggestion? The hack is working fine except that none of my mods or supermods can see it??
Thanks again!

Can Manage Threads is a moderator permission, so it won't show up in usergroup manger (unless you have Restrict Supermod Permissions installed, as already pointed out).
All your Mods that have this permission and all the supermods should see the options in Thread Tools and the Inline Moderation action dropdown.
If not, you've modified the templates incorrectly.

Thank you very much.
I was doing this manually before. I even had modified the default option for move thread to "no redirect" so this was easier...
Your plugin makes this process MUCH easier.
THANKS!

10-27-2006, 07:00 AM
It also works on 3.6.2 :)
if I wanted to change the thead icon when a thread is moved to a default icon, how would I go about doing that? I made a new style for the forum the threads are moved to, but don't know how to go about forcing the thread icon change for that style only. I am pretty sure it would be a template change in SHOWFORUM but I don't know what to change! Any ideas?

It would be great if there was an option to ban the user as well.
This would be cruicial for larger forums.
Thanks!

I guess this is what the resources-zone.com forum uses to shift old threads to their archive system? Does it do it automatically after a certain amount of days or anything?

After I upgraded from 3.6.4 to the latest 3.7 alot of my forums posts are suddenly located in the recycle bin forum!? Most of the topics are over 2 years old though.
It's probably my fault for not turning the mod off during the upgrade :erm::erm:

Works great except that the number of post isn't updated when a thread is moved to the recycle bin.
The old posts are indeed discounted from the user's post count, but new ones doesn't, so if I move/delete a new one, the post count of the user remains the same.
Is there a way to fix this?
