Would be nice to have a hack that would allow a watermark placed on all uploaded images, when they are uploaded.
Willing to donate to the cause once there is a completed project

Theres one problem with watermarking images. It seems only jpg/jpeg images can be watermarked, and not gifs. (which I think alot more people like using. :disappointed:) See the examples here:
The original JPG picture:
http://www.vbhackers.com/watermark/main.jpg
The original JPG picture watermarked:
http://www.vbhackers.com/watermark/image.php?main=main.jpg&watermark=watermark.png
The original GIF picture:
http://www.vbhackers.com/watermark/main2.gif
The original GIF picture watermarked:
http://www.vbhackers.com/watermark/image.php?main=main2.gif&watermark=watermark.png
I don't see a point in making this unless I can watermark bmp, gif, jpeg, jpg, and png. :(

Using ImageMagick (free) you can do the conversions easily on the fly.
