Hi,
I've read through all of the older threads concerning this but none seem to be current or an answer to my question.
I need an encyclopedia mod for my site. I have seen there is a module in vbPortal that does this but cannot figure out if it is usable if you do not use the vpPortal (I'm using vBadvanced). Does anyone know how feasible this is?
If not, are there any encyclopedia hacks coming down the road (or already available) for vB 3.5.3? I'd even be willing to pay for a php script or whatever it takes (although funds are limited).
Any help at all would be muchly appreciated!

I believe a hack such as this one has been made already. Do a search. ;)

As I stated in my post, I did do a search. The only things that came up were out of date mods and none of those were encyclopedias anyway. If you can find it, would you be so kind as to post a link here? Perhaps my search ability isn't up to snuff.. but I've put in a number of hours looking here and at other sites for such a mod.

Thanks for the idea Reeve of Shinra. I've found one mod that integrates with Wiki but it is a simple pull from wikipedia. As we need our own encyclopedia type application that is integrated into the site itself, this won't do.
I have been in contact with someone who is able to do this for us (and we'll probably hire him) but I'm still also looking for viable options while I try to get my organization to foot the expenses for a mod-for-hire.
Thanks again.. any other ideas?

There is a glossary hack here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=111863&highlight=glossary)that may help.

Thanks Geek, I'm actually considering the glossary hack for another (database type) need. The "Encyclopedia" I need (still need, as apparently the person who offered to code it has disappeared.. no contact in months) is quite a bit more involved than that. Then again, a good coder could probably use that glossary hack and build on it in no time.
Anyway, thanks again.. and aussiev8, I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with!
