Moderator Statistics 1.3

vb3.6 version released here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=139248

About this hack:
This idea and part of this hack are a port over from a hack made for vb3.0 called Moderator Management System. I have changed the name since I did not include the weekly PMs about your mods in this hack. This hack only gives you a page you can go to view stats on your mods. Although I did not include the weekly email, I have improved the hack in many ways. I have also added detailed columns of each type of action there is for a moderator to do. You can see what type off actions your moderators do.

Features:

Uses vBulletin easy Product installer/updater/uninstaller
Full set of options
Setting to add other usergroups to the stats (eg. smods and admin)
Setting for who can view the stats
Only a plug-in. No FTP file uploading required.
Can sort by any category
Many more ...

Yeah, fantastic addition. Now I can see when my team is slackin'.

Can you add a little christmas music to the background?

"He knows when you've been slackin'... He knows when you don't close posts... He knows who's a tot-tal for-um-nazi so close those posts for good-ness-sakes.."

Can the periodic email be added back to this and with a setting for how often you want to receive it?

I was very close to adding it, but for some reason when the cron would run by it self, it would not send the PM. Only when I would click 'run now' would the email get sent. I have to do some more research into it. I do plan on adding the PM feature just when I figure it out the problem.

I installed, but it just hangs when I try to access it. How does it retrieve the data? If it's searching for raw info in the database, this may not be suitable for large forums like mine.

This is what I get when I run it:

Server Load Averages 20.74 7.92 5.21 | 737 Users Online

I see you are using MySQLi, I didn't do any test on it. I will look at the code tonight to see what I can come up with.

It only uses about 4 queries besides the standard queries that run on every click. No queries just pull all info. They all have limits as far as I remember.

What about people who have female moderators?

When we talk about God, we refer to 'him' as 'him'. 'Him' is normal for languge when it can be either or. If you dont like it, you can edit the phrase. The hack is fully phrased.

works. Slow loading though, takes about 10 seconds and then the page appears. I have about 1.4 million posts and it pulled 140 moderators.

So is the load addition only when you pull this page? or is it adding load on your forum in general? I would assume only when you access this page.

I realize this mod pulls all members who are set as moderator of any given forum. Then you have the option to add usergroups in addition, however is their a way to turn off moderators data and only go by usergroups I specify?

Abe1,

Suggestion for a future release. It would be great to set a parameter like minimum posts per 30 days in their own forum. Then, if a moderator is below that, the system would send him/her a pm warning.

That would save me the trouble of having to do it manually.

I was wondering :)

Could you add the colum "Total Moderations Done:" for each moderator, as you've done for all the other stats ("Edit/Del/Move/Close", etcetera).

and even more importantly: "Average moderations done a week" :D

So... You take total number of moderations done by the person, diveded by the number of days you've been a moderator and then you times that with 7 :)

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

X = Total Amount Of Moderations One Has Made.
Y = Total Amount Of Days One Has Been A Moderator.
7 = 1 Week.

The system aint perfect, but whatever :P

Wow, when I view the stats page it basically brings my server to a halt (45 sec to generate). 25 secs on immediate 2nd run, 3.5 secs on 3rd immediate run (cached some tables I assume). Only 6 mods, but 1M posts. I'll probably have to set it so only I can view it for now.

There are quite a few things I don't need tracked.. Basically all my mods are "supermods" so I don't need to track things in "their forums." Usually a mod starts out with a forum but ends up a supermod. Is there any way to turn off some of those options to speed it up?

Bug Found:

If I enter "7" for posts in "his" forum within the ACP, when viewing the table it actually shows last 7 days of posts in all forums. Same for all other day entries (they appear to be reversed from what they should be ).

By the way, when it shows posts "edited" is it including the editing of your own posts? I would actually prefer to see moves/edits/closings listed separately rather than one total. Especially if edits include their own threads.

Thanks for the mod!!!

please elaborate more on your percentage question.

I mustn't have explained myself enough.

I want to keep the "Edit/Delete..." and let it show X numbers of moderation done in Y days.

But I also want a total.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ (http://img78.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot6jf.jpg)

Take a look at this, wrote it quickly :)
(And yes, I made tons of typo's because I randomly typed, but you should be able to spot my point, just look at Moderator 1-3)

And lets take a look shall we?

Moderator 1 has done 100 moderation's in total and lets assume he has been a moderator for 200 days.
We want to know how many he does in average a week.

SO.... [(100*7)/200] = 3.5 moderation's a week!

(On the table I've assumed all has been a moderator for 200 days, exactly)

Are you following me? It would be awesome if you could make it

I would be able make some sort of thing like this. I would add some things like what the post above your's wants.

First, the total moderations is the same as edit/delete/move/close. Also, I there is no record on when a user becomes a Mod. If I would use from the first action, it would also mess up if a user was a mod then was downgraded and now, back a mod.

I will try to figure something out though that comprimises all ideas.

Glad to hear, and what a great mod :)

There is no vBulletin tracking of time spent. I will not make this hack add tables or columns to your database nor will I add plug-ins around our forum.

Abe1,

Another request.

I have my mods looking at this to see if they are meeting the minimum requirements. It would be great if I could set those minimum requirements via admincp. If any stat is under those requirements for a particular mod, then the stat would show up in red. If over, it would show up in green. This way it is easy for them to see what they need to do to get up to minimum standards.

Thanks.

This would require some coding that most other user would not like.

You can do this by your self using the templates. In 'moderator_stats_bit', you can add an 'if condition' to each output.

Eg.
Find:
<td class="$bgclass">$moderatorstats[1]</td>
and replace with:
<if condition="$moderatorstats[1] < 10">
<td class="$bgclass"><font color="red">$moderatorstats[1]</font></td>
<else />
<td class="$bgclass"><font color="green">$moderatorstats[1]</font></td>
</if>

I meant posts & threads in forums which he is a moderator, not all forums he is posting. One can be mod of several forums, max 3 in my board.

For the advanced mod actions, where can I remove stats or table of the actions I don't want to show <edit a template?>

The totals for "Total Moderator Actions" in the last 30 days appears to be correct.

However, if you change all the settings to 90 days, for example, the "Total Moderator Actions" numbers appear to change, but all the rest of the advanced mod action counts stay exactly the same (and don't add up).

A screenshot is difficult (how do you screenshot something that goes way off screen? :)). The "advanced" numbers don't change the longer I go back (the total does). They also don't add up. I did upgrade from 3.06 to 3.53 a couple of weeks ago. Could that have removed/changed something in the moderator log? When I look at the log it still goes back at least a year.

Yes, I can have done something. vb 3.0 may not have had taken down exactly what each acton was in the way vb3.5 does. I'm not 100% sure though. But vb3.0 can be the reason.

I'm 99% sure this isn't correct (at least not on 3.5.3). Uploading an attachment to your own post is getting counted -- perhaps it is a bug or just something that gets tracked because the person is a mod. Or perhaps it only happens if they add an attachment to their own post after the fact. Either way, on my forum it is including uploaded attachments to mod's own posts. It's not really a problem with your mod, but with the way VB tracks things.

Abe1,

Suggestion for a future release. It would be great to set a parameter like minimum posts per 30 days in their own forum. Then, if a moderator is below that, the system would send him/her a pm warning.

That would save me the trouble of having to do it manually.

Hear hear! Though I would simply say "minumum posts per 30 days, ANYWHERE!" I'd also recommend adding a link to the stats in the Admin Control Panel.

wouldnt you need a condition for that to work properly? because like that eveyrone will see the link...

Everyone see's the link but when you click on it, it says you don't have permission for it. If you have the code I'll use it.

Abe,
Very nice addition, thank you.
I have the same width problem.
Maybe we can have the option of which columns to show? Or have the Advanced Log Stats be a pop up, instead of a mouse over?

Either way, I like it.

Before and after the code I first gave you.

This is the error I get

The following error occurred when attempting to evaluate this template:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in /home/admin/public_html/forums/includes/adminfunctions_template.php(3537) : eval()'d code on line 192

This is likely caused by a malformed conditional statement. It is highly recommended that you fix this error before continuing, but you may continue as-is if you wish.

Just installed it but when I click on the link you gave in the instructions it isn't working. I just get the page not found error page. What am I doing wrong? I uploaded it as a product through the product manager, clicked yes for overwrite, editing the settings and clicked on install here ;)

What else do I need to do?

There is the setting in the ACP. You would have to edit that to change what you see when.

Any idea how to limit the stats to only say super moderators??? I have Super Moderators who have full control and Moderators who don't have that much control and it's just a designation of who's responsible for monitoring an area.

<if condition="$show['admincplink']"><a href="misc.php?do=moderator_stats"><input type="button" value="Mod. Stat." name="B1"></a> -</if>
For persons who have access to adminCP.

And for custom usergroups:
<if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, X,X,X,X)"><a href="misc.php?do=moderator_stats"><input type="button" value="Mod. Stat." name="B1"></a> -</if>

I am releasing a beta version of this hack. I made the advanced stats AJAX and added a ton of new stats regarding the moderator actions. I only did the moderator actions right now, I will work on adding the admin actions soon.

The beta will work on BOTH vb3.5 AND vb3.6.

To install, you have to upload moderator_stats.php to your main forum dir. Then import the product. It will overwrite your current version. You will also need to go to moderator_stats.php to view the stats.

I’m posting this here now so I can get feedback now already with ideas!

ENJOY!

All my mods can only soft delete ;)
