code to rebuild post

I have code that updates the pagetext in the "post" table but it doesn't appear in the post.
I go to phpmyadmin and I can see that it exists.

Try some tasks under 'maintenence tasks' in the admincp.

I did and it was the "post cache" one.
I am making a hack for a hosting site where members fill out a form.
After they fill out the form a new thread is created.
In the thread are two links "Accepted" and "Decline".
After I click one of these links I update the post table and add "Accepted" or "Decline"
For some reason the text I put in the field isn't visible on the forums.
When I go to phpmyadmin I can see it in the field.

Maybe a cache problem?
When you clear your browsercache, is it still not showing?

I cleared my browser's cache and it still doesn't show up.
