artist biographies = The abilty to add music artist information within the vb database.

should show like
artist name
genre
band members
location (where the band is from)
website
links to mp3s
and a area for a bio
rate the artist.

should allow you to add a url or upload spot for a main picture. it should also be able to be auto sized so if you have multi admins and one throws up a bigger then normal picture it sets itself to the default size..

(bonus) members can submit there favorite bands or there on projects.
approval granted members can click a link to show they like the band and it should store who likes the band and shows a list of fans ..

Lyrics Database
yet another music related hack this time for lyrics. pretty much a a to z navigation that pops up artists names in your database depedning on the letter then from there you click the artist name and albums would appear and so on untill you actually saw the lyrics.

bonus) members can submit lyrics. admins approve them. also tracks how many lyrics the user submitted.

movie database
pretty much the same thing as the other just different this time movies so you can throw up your movie collection or have your own movie database.
should be able to rate and comment on the movies.

Review engine
a review system so users can rate comment and review whatever categories you have in the review system//

Webcam Portal.
Basic page that will thumbnail members webcams if available.
members provide name for the cam and a link to there cam and it displays the cam latest picture generated and allows you to rate and comment on the cams. (bonus) Favorites

Hot or Not
A hot or not script allows users to upload there photos for hot or not. should be able to allow 1 to 5 photos. this one would work well with a portal like vbadvanced so it will allow a module block for random members.

should have a rating system as well. either basic hot or not. or a scale 1 to 10

(bonus) have a page that shows the hottest rated users.

all these are ideas and can be improved as well. with other features and the way things are laid out. like example artist database idea
the main page could show the latest added the highest rated and the bands with the most members that like them

note it would work best if someone did the lyrics and artist database together. but then it would be nice to

have the artist page have links to albums and lyrics
so you could browse the bands albums then it show the songs where you could click the song and either read already submitted lyrics or submit your own. then this could all be set up nicely on a page that will show how many artists, lyrics, and albums are in the database, and then a page that would show whos submitted the most bands , lyrics , albums, also stats on whos got the most fans most comments and highest rated

I've done a band system very close to your specification on my site (http://www.tyranno.co.uk/), but it's not released yet (probably tomorrow - we're releasing lots of things at once, so even though it's complete, other things aren't). The difference is that songs aren't linked to off-site MP3s - the band script finds all songs by the artist in the database and links to them via a media player on my site. Within the ACP, you add song information along with the link to the web address with the file.

I wouldn't want to give this away for free right now though, since I've put a hell of a lot of my free time and effort into making it. I'd also like it to be unique to my site.

You can take a look at the finished product when it's released and if you're really interested I can discuss it with my fellow admins.

A cool movie collection: PowerMovieList

PowerMovieList is a powerful Open-Source php-script to manage your movie(z) collection. It lets you catalog your movies with detailed information, that it downloads from imdb.com, kino.de or other online databases in the internet. Informations such as the director, the genre, the production year, a short plot and much more will the script download for you.
As you can define custom fields for every list you can use it not only for movies, you could make a list of nearly everything: books, cds, games...
