Allow admins to post as user

Is there a hack already written which allows Admins to post as any user of their choice? This would be useful for admins who also have "covert" user accounts and allow them to post as those "covert" users without having to log out and back in just to post, then log out and back in as admin again...

If anyone knows if this has already been done, please let me know :)

I don't know of one, but I'd love to have this as well. I have a couple of sections of my site that include user submitted content - would be very nice to be able to post it as them so they get proper recognition.

I just had to do a database roll back because of a problem and I came here looking for a hack that would let me repost for users when I need to go to an archive board and transfer the information that I recovered....

There is a mod for admins to login as user, and of course, once loged in, you can post.

I use the quick link between the Admin and Test accounts (2nd link) and it would be a VERY BAD IDEA to link a member account to your admin account as they would be able to become an admin as easily as you become a member and then they have access to all admin powers as well as admin folders!

I will look at the code for the 1st link but what I would like is an extra field option inside the newreply and newthread pages that would allow me to set who the post or thread should be listed as the author.
