I liked this mod that added a link to the smilies in the Quick Reply box but fellow staff members dislike it and would much rather have a smiley next to the Quote button like below. (Made with Photoshop)

Is there a code I could put there to make this work? I'm fine with adding code per instructions but when it comes to editing the code on my own I'm lost.
