Quick Portal Question

When making a portal, there is a top bar to my forum which says the usual stuff, mysite.com forum and then has the user CP FAQ and site rules displayed underneath. An ugly grey bar. Well, this bar looks fine on my forum, but it is also on my portal, is there any way that I can kill that on my portal? I see its been done here. How do I get that done?

if you use vBadvanced there is an option to turn off the navbar in the vBCMPS options.
