how to make links/URLs inactive?

can you guide me how to make posted links inactive?
for example instead http://www.mydomain.com to show hxxp://www.mydomain.com

Well you can make it so that the "Automatically Parse Links" Box is unchecked by default.


http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104493 it is for 3.0 but it does work for and I'm using it on my 3.5.3
