View Full Version : Search Problem?
Just tried to search for "forum permissions" (without quotes) on this site and after a delay it tries to send me search.php instead of displaying results.
Tried about 10 times now, happens every time. Something broken?

try using quotes. it'll be falling over as there are so many possible results.

"forum" is too popular , is in the list of non-searchable words...

Where is the list of non searchable words? Can we change it?

this list is related to your own site... the one here is built accordingly to the forum content...
check for : /includes/searchwords.php and you will have the lists...

I get this when trying to do some searches:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /www/vbulletin.org/htdocs/forum/search.php on line 839

probably coz the term you are searching for is too vague or returns to many results. If you are searching for a hack, try setting it to search thread titles instead of posts.

Refine your search, Lee. However, if this occurs regularly, you might do well to encourage more specific searches. If that problem occurs on the forum with normal members, then set up a message that you would want members to see such as "Refine your search" instead of the untidy message that you are seeing at the moment. I will guide you if you are unsure how to do so.

There's a whole sticky thread on this issue. Please use it. Thank you.
