World of Warcraft

This is the WoW style I've created. Most graphics were edited manually to get a seamless look. Graphics taken from Blizzards WoW page and Blizzards WoW fansitekit. Took me a long time to edit graphics and set up the html for it.

Buttons are in german. If you need other language, get the Blizzard WoW fansitekit (http://www.wow-europe.com/de/links/fansites.html) and use the button.psd supplied, or whatever buttons you like.

The header files are included, named hleft.jpg and hright.jpg in directory templates/wow/layout. I've removed our logo from hleft.jpg. Just edit to your needs or remove the header part completely from the header template.

Instructions:
- Upload templates directory within templates.zip (zipped with WinRAR 3.5.x) to your forum root directory
- Import Style

I love the skin. I'll definitely use it for my WoW guild site, however I have one quick question. I downloaded the fansite kit as per the instructions, though I can not edit the .pngs for use on an English site because it seems I do not have the appropriate font installed, and I can't seem to find it in the .zip.

Would it be possible for someone to whip up buttons in English?

Too bad that this does not work with my vBAdvanced CMPS. Not sure what the deal is...

Private fields are showing up in memberlist (even for those without rights to see them)
The fields are also not showing the proper header (first name isn't first name)

Never tried VBulletin before but I have to say this theme caught my eye (on www.tfohq.com) and so I'm using it too, on http://www.dredd.me.uk with a little mod to the header (still playing actually).

Just want to say a big thank you to JJ and all the helpers there after

I found the mistakes with the missing icons for the forums for Thadeus's alternative style. For some reason a couple of the templates were changed and the $stylevar tag was left out or placed as $forum. It should work fine with this xml file here.

Here is the problem, Thaddeus uploaded a style that has been heavily hacked, the portion regarding the forum status icons is due to a product that was added on called vB Catagory Icons (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=82750). That mod requires two template modifications. I installed that mod and was still having an issue. For my site I didn't need it, so the easist solution was to just revert the hacked templates.

Here are the steps to fix the problem:

Go to the style manager in the Admin CP.
Select "Edit Template" in the combo box for the style
Scroll down the list of templates until you find "Forum Home Templates" (Should be in blue)
Double click on the Forum Home Templates
Scroll back down and click on "forumhome_forumbit_level1_post"
On the right in the control box verify that "forumhome_forumbit_level1_post" is listed. If it is then press the revert button.
Press the Yes button to confirm
Repeat the process for "forumhome_forumbit_level2_post" template

You have to enable the vb setting to show the closed icon if the user cannot post to a forum. I know that this option is disabled by default.

Gave it a go, but no luck so far. As soon as I add a variable to fix vBadvanced it breaks the post icons.

I think it's to do with the variable it uses to get the path for the posticons in the template, but I don't know enough about these things to try and fix it.

Could I ask what you changed for vBadvanced to work?

I added a replacement variable for "templates/wow/" > "/forums/templates/wow/" but that breaks some other parts of the site, i.e. post icons.

I installed the fix, so that the status icons work, but now I have having a weird problem with the forumdisplay, where it shows two lines of html:

Oh fellers for one..I LOVE the style..done instaleld it...but having one major issue.

OK new question here.

I've been all through the Style and admin stuff but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make the Character Name, Race, Class, Level, Biography stuff available to be filled in by the users or myself for that matter.

Is there a seperate Mod I need to install or am I missing something in the style that I have not setup? I'd like to get this function enabled as soon as possible especially since this will complete my entire Forums.

Now i definately remember it looks exactly like the skin they had on that site. For some reason the site is down maybe they died or something. But i remember the skin was exactly like that with the parchement and the metal border bits.

Great skin. One thing though, if you put in a description to a forum, while using the lighter version of the skin, the text is pretty much impossible to read. I can't figure out where in the CSS I change the color of that specific text. :(

Any clues?

bump, I am having the same issue. The text is tied to the smallfont css, so you can change that and make it lighter but then it screws up the black smallfont text in the light areas. I can't figure out how to fix this...anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

In AdminCP - Styles & Templates - Style Manager - Your Style Options add the following to 'Additional CSS Values' near the bottom.

.moduletitle { font-colour: #FFB019; font-size: 11px; }

Then open up the AdminCP - Styles & Templates - Style Manager - Your Style - << >> - vBadvanced CMPS Templates

In 'adv_portal_navigationbits':

Find
<div class="smallfont">
Replace with
<div class="moduletitle">

And if yours was the same as mine, the text in the online users box saying for example; '3 members, 0 guests' will be too dark aswell. If it is;

QQ, it?s been mentioned here earlier but wasn?t replied in post #87

OK new question here.

I've been all through the Style and admin stuff but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make the Character Name, Race, Class, Level, Biography stuff available to be filled in by the users or myself for that matter.

Is there a seperate Mod I need to install or am I missing something in the style that I have not setup? I'd like to get this function enabled as soon as possible especially since this will complete my entire Forums.

Apologies. Thaddeus was just a temporary account: I didn't expect my version of the style to become popular and cause so many questions (and problems). I never intended to support it. I'll try and keep a watch on this thread, though.

I am using version 3.5.4 when I install the template I get an error stating the template is for 3.5.3. I made it ignore versions for the install; however none of the images are showing up...

For some reason can't even navigate into the /templates/ folder or any other folder i move the /wow/ directory into...

Hello everyone,

It seems I've received some questions about my version of this style (I'm Thaddeus). When I made it, it was heavily modified in order to suit my forums. The character name / class, etc, are just custom profile fields.

hey there. Great job on this. =) however....how do I make those custom profile fields go away? i deleted them in the control panel and then created my own...but they won't go away! lol. If you go to edit your own profile, the "name, class, etc" options are no longer there...the fields I want are there. However, when you view the actual profile after saving it....it reverts back to your customer fields. Please help me get rid of those. Thanks! =)

My board won't show the icons "Contains New Posts," "Forum Contains New Posts," "Contains No New Posts," etc next to the forum's name. Did I mess up somewhere?

I dont see a reason it wouldn't work with 3.6. If you need to revert a template, then revert it and add back whatever changes you need. VB has some really nice tools for this, as well as listed exactly what templates on the official vb forums must be reverted.

That sounds easier than it is, Tide. Many people inlcuding me, who use those ready made templates, simply dont know how to make those changes to the templates.
So it would be really nice if someone (the original creator or somebody else with the know-how) could do the necessary changes to this popular template and upload it, so that noobs like me can perform the 3.6 update without a hassle.

I only had to revert one template on another VB site, and its not required to revert templates, just update and leave it alone if you like. Honestly I don't see any features in 3.6 that required me to move my guild forum over from 3.5.4, so I haven't bothered with it. Beefier subscriptions, infraction system were the biggest addons for my other site.

I just can't see getting medieval icons for yellow and red cards. :lol:

For some reason the body of my background page as shown here http://www.gaguild.com/ is overlapping the frame on the far right. Does anyone know why it's doing this? I'm assuming some code isn't closed somewhere or there is something else causing it to stretch off the right side of the page...

It worked for me and is running fine, here is a screenshot. I'm running 3.6.3 now with no issues. I just edited the style to get a "more easy on the eyes look"

I'm going to be editing it more today, I don't like the grey box when you go to reply, I will change it to a light brown color to keep everything nice and neat.:D

Hi, I am new to vbuletin can someone explain to me the steps on how to do this : - Upload templates directory within templates.zip (zipped with WinRAR 3.5.x) to your forum root directory

I have not done this step and I am guessing it is the reason why I can not see the pictures. Do I upload the templates using admin cp? If so how do I do that?

Easiest fix is to copy over your default skin images into the world of warcraft skin folder, then just replace them as you see fit as you come across them, such as the multiquote button.

there is or was an updated xml type file that someone else loaded up, I just used that and got that color scheme. I'll look for it. Here is some updates of the fansite for WOW I'm still working on. This is all VB.

I Love it JJ!!!! What can I say! You saved me so much time making this wonderful style. I did use it for my guild site which is what I purchased Vbulletin for. I am running vBulletin 3.6.4 and it worked just fine! I would be happy to donate for your efforts if it is allowed. I just need to know how I would go about doing that. :D :)

I've gotten the member profile back to the VB default without the character fields, changed a ton of images so it doesnt reflect to much like world of warcraft, deleted the top header to make my own and a bunch of other stuff...

My questions are:

1. Can we get in trouble with blizzard from using this template? Saw another post about blizzard getting mad about it...

2. How can we change the category description text and manage attachment text to a lighter color so the text will show?

The other xml fix does fix the text but the colors on this one are much better. So you can see what ive done, go here: http://www.scriptroot.com/forums/index.php

The site is going to be a script and template site so im not sure how this template will work but it looks awesome so im going to use it anyway! Great job!

Excellent mod.. I got most of it to work in the newest version of vBulletin (3.6.7)

All in all I had to add extra icons for those that were missing and still have the main page icon that isn't working.

The main pages icon is not working correctly.. also, I have 'gItemStats' (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=141177) in which after I installed this theme the item image doesn't show..

UPDATE:

I totally had to uninstall this as I couldn't get it to work. I went with another theme that I paid for.

Hmm Footer, this could be, but on the start Page there is everything alright.
If the footer were broken so the startpage should be broken too, or i miss something?

I found and fixed the problem, it was the editor_toolbar_on Template.

Is there any way to get an update to this template? I really like it, but after I install it my users can't post anything because they get that "Security token was missing or mismatched" error. Unless someone here knows of a way to fix it, from what I've been reading it requires an updated template --

Hey guys, I am using 3.7.4 and everything seems to be ok. I would like to put my guilds logo in the middle on the top. Does anyone know how to add that up top?
