For someone who would consider themselves an advanced user of web apps this program is damn near impossible to figure out and it blows money chunks and screw it, it's pushing all my buttons.

All i can ever get it to do is show the same damn F*** banner.

Flush, there has got to be a better way.

Use adcycle.com, its free now and I have been using it for almost 3 years and have had millions of ads displayed.

I use TheGeeks Advertising system now

http://www.thevbgeek.com

I switched to that from phpadsnew and I agree I hated it too

phpAdsNew is a monster for everybody.. don't know why they built it so big if most of the guys that search for a free banners system will never need that much of optential...

this is a tremendous tool for real marketters, but most forum owners will never need 10% or the power it have...

anyway... there are many others! (even mine!)

I tried phpadsnew but finally called it quits not because I couldn't set it up, but because it demanded so much CPU time. on my server it was demanding more time than the forums, that's just insane.

RTFM - It's simple as pie. - It's in easy to use PDF.

I got it doing :

Multi Clients.
Multi Banners per Campaign
Multi Campaigns
Campaigns per forum by subject.

It has a high learning curve untill you get down terminology.

- I have used it for 2-3 years .....
/me shrugs

Pure garbage, I read it. Doesn't follow through.

I used it for about 20 minutes. Called it quits. I'm about to start using the geeks banner system after I do the 3.5.3 upgrade

I also use phpadsNew. Took me about an hr to set it up, now adding a new banner takes less than 3mins. :surprised:

i don't like it much either its too bloated great if you've got a huge site with lots of advertising clients multiple campaigns etc but for a small website/forum its like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

head over to the phpads forum if you have specific questions. After 30 minutes there and a few minutes in the documentation I had all my publishers and zones set up along with geo targeting. Super easy software to use once you get the hang of it.

Ya, I use phpadsnew and thought it was really well done; the features and abilities are tremendous.

However, it is a bit like using a boulder to kill a sparrow. The developers definitely focused on functionality and reliability over useability.

I use it but I don't really like it. You're right it's not easy to setup (the zones never worked on my forum) and the navigation is just stupid, you have to click too mutch links to get to the actual banners for instance. But it's free, so we can't really complain.

Maybe I'll try another one too.

Forget phpADSOLD. I kicked that to the trash long ago. You need the gift of the GAB. It makes advertising on my site EASY and I have the power to put whichever ad wherever the hell I want.

phpadnews is actually very very easy to use and learn. The only problem with it is that it's not the best choice for very large websites with a lot of ad campaigns cause it tends to load very slow once it's database gets a bit large. But as for it's use, it is very easy to use, plus they have a pretty good documentation available as well.

I really like it and it is FREE! Can't get much better than that...

I absolutely love it. Its a feature rich program, so its not easy, but after I spent a few hours with the documentation its working freakin awesome with a custom integration into vb 3.6.4.

I'm sorry but I'm trying it too and it's impossible to make it work. My campaigns are activated and still no picture is shown. Just an X and I tried flash and html banners nothing worked but at least the word SPONSORS appeared
