View Full Version : Football fans?
American football for our users from outside of the states.
As you may have guessed from my location I am a Carolina Panthers fan. ;) I am not some recent convert because we went to the super bowl. I've stuck with this team from the early days back when we lost the NFC Championship game to Green bay, and the entire time we played like mud (the better part of the late 90's ;)).
Needless to say I was happy when we got ourselves into the playoffs last Sunday. :D
We got into a must win situation last weekend with Atlanta after having the division wrapped up a few weeks prior. They don't call us the Cardiac Cats for nothing. :( Thankfully we won and managed to get ourselves a Wild Card.
The playoffs start this weekend, and it's a great time to be a football fan. I look forward to coaching my team to victory from my laz-e-boy this Sunday! :bunny:
Here are games from next weekend, post your picks (mine are at the bottom of this post).
Washington at Tampa Bay
Jacksonville at New England
Carolina at N.Y. Giants
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
My picks:
Tampa Bay
New England
Carolina
Pittsburgh

I grew up in Jacksonville, Fl and watched as the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars were born back in the mid 90s. Up until the turn of the century I had been to every home Jaguar game and also every Gator Bowl in the 90s. I would love for Jaguars to meet Panthers in the SuperBowl!
Goodluck!

Yeah and I have been a Green Bay fan since proabbly baout that time or sooner. With Farve gone now, looks like I need a new team. :(

More of a college fan. I'm a Gamecock, as you can see from my site www.cockytalk.com.
I do pull for the Panthers and have since 1995 (is that when they came into the league?) I remember that first year when they won the first game. I was there at Clemson (ugh) for most of that first season. It was pretty awesome.
Yes it was 95 :).
I know where you are coming from with the Clemson 'ugh', they don't take kindly to us Tar Heel fans down there in Clemson. ;)

I do not believe Pittsburg will be able to stop Palmer and Johnson and the Panthers won't be able to stop Tiki Barber.
I follow NFL and CF pretty close

Jacksonville at New England
Carolina at N.Y. Giants
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

Football is not very popular in Québec/Canada... BUT we try.. lol... here in Québec City, we have some great University Team, the "Rouge et Or", that is breaking all the records years after years for the last decade...
(and by what i know, the cheerleaders are kinda cute.. lol)

Im down Corrie lol...you have Byron Leftwich starting, the Jags wouldnt even be in the playoffs of it wasnt for David Garrard leading the team. Garrad is much better and gives the jags a more mobile offense. If they do beat New England at HOME, I will be very surprised...espescially the way Tom Brady has been playing these past couple of months.
$250 :) haha

I pick all the home teams this week. Should be fun to watch Peyton play all the way to the Super Bowl. I thought he would do it last year but they ran into the Pats.

Not much of a NFL fan, but definitively a college football fan! :D
Can't wait for the UT (12-0) vs. USC (12-0) matchup this Wednesday. It's going to be good!

I wasn't a big fan of football until I started playing, so I've really only been pulling for Carolina for 3 years. Have to support my state team, and all that. However, my college just recently won the national football championship, making us the first in north carolina to win a national championship. So go ASU :D

I don't really follow pro football, I'm a more of a college fan myself (It's great, to be, a Miami Hurricane!). As far as pro goes, I only care about player performance, specifically the players that are on my fantasy team. :)
However, I would like to see the Panthers take it all, just because I'm a little partial to the Carolinas.
