Template: header
To make the Skin liquid find the first instance of "800" and change it to your preferred % width ( I usually go with 80-90% ). Then replace the second instance of "800" with "100%".
The logo/header image supplied wonlt look quite right, but if your making your own it shouldn't be a problem.

I'll give that a go.
Thanks again for a wonderful vB template. This really is one of the best I've seen, from both paid for and free categories. :)
Looks great; the only problem I'm running into is the images aren't showing up like they're supposed to. I'm thinking I have to upload them and have it point to them, but I'm not so sure on that front.
I'm sure I'll figure it out.
*EDIT*
And, I did; awesome skin once again!

Just wanted to say great style! I'm using it now and still have some things to tweak (like logo, etc..) --> http://www.glockers.com
I created new little post icons (new/old/closed) and everything is easy w/ your PSD for modifying things.

In the "header" template, there are references to "blackline.jpg". I do not have this image.

Thanks everyone, i've got a couple of styles in dev at the moment (inc. A PS3 one :))
In the "header" template, there are references to "blackline.jpg". I do not have this image.
That image was simple a 1x1px black dot streched to create a seperation, I removed it but in the XML I forgot to remove it.

I am so lost. I cannot seem to find the "light" folder, and I have no idea where to look to find my root/images directory, or whatever it is. I am new and this is SO not fun. Grrr! HELP!
Impreza04
02-24-2006, 08:56 PM
You need to upload the light folder to you forum/images directory, it will be in the zip file avalible from above
Christie189
02-24-2006, 08:58 PM
Ok. This might be a dumb question but, how do I get to my forum/images directory?
I am very new, just purchased everything today. Going to rip my hair out. :(

Normally this should be done using an FTP and using login info provided by your web host. You may also not be using forum as your directory, asically whever you uploaded vB, the light folder needs to go in the images folder.

See, this is what I am not sure of. I am through Site Ground and they installed my Vb software for me, onto my domain so I have no idea how to find this image folder that I need. Also, when I downloaded the zip file from above, there was no light folder in that zip. Am I missing something?
I am so sorry for all the ?'s, this is a huge help!
Christie189
02-24-2006, 09:13 PM
Ok, disregard the help needed for finding the image folder. I found that, through my CP on my hosting site. Now, I still don't see the light folder that I need, within that zip that I downloaded.
Impreza04
02-24-2006, 09:16 PM
So when you extract the zip you don't get a folder like this

02-24-2006, 09:36 PM
Hmm. When I went to the control panel, then to upload files within my images folder. It will not let me upload a folder, seems like I can only upload single files! :( What shall I do?
Impreza04
02-24-2006, 09:41 PM
Either upload them as single files or have a bit of practice using an FTP
FTP's will allow you to upload folders, hwoever getting them setup and using them will take a bit of getting used to.

02-24-2006, 09:48 PM
Oh boy. What have I gotten myself into? LOL
Ok. I managed to get into the FTP. I am in the images folder via FTP. Now to figure out how to upload this light folder, then I think I might be good to go. *sigh*
Christie189
02-24-2006, 09:50 PM
Well duh. I just copied the folder, then pasted it. And it seems to be uploading.
Impreza04
02-24-2006, 09:51 PM
If your that far you're fine, usually right click to folder and look for an upload/transfer option..
Wait for the files to finish and then import the xml

I think I did it. Stressed out and wishing I had 25 beers in the fridge, but I think I might have done it. :) But alas, I might be back. :nervous:

That still didn't fix some of the inner tables ... you'd be better off producing a expanded version for us n00bs who don't know how to properly fix it!:speechless:

Beautiful style, it's my favorite! I just integrated photopost and the photopost page can't find the header.gif and the top.gif though. It can find the header on the five other styles I've got loaded so I think something must not be standard with this one but can't figure out the changes needed to make it work. Thanks for any help.

probably need to include the entire url of the header images in your styles header template

All the other styles used with photopost are linking to the header.gif image at it?s location in a subfolder to the forum folder. The City Morning style is trying to link to header.gif as if it were in a subfolder to the gallery folder where photopost is.
City Morning has this in the code of the header template:
<img src="images/light/template/header.gif" alt=""
The other styles have something like this:
<img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/header.gif" alt=""
I don?t really know what else might have to change to make it all work correctly. I tried changing the field next to where the url of the header image goes and that didn?t fix it. The simple kludge for now was to copy the images over to the gallery directory.

change
<img src="images/light/template/header.gif" alt=""
to this
<img src="http://www.yoursite.com/forum/images/light/template/header.gif" alt=""
but you need to edit the url in there to match your site of course
