External links in new window - internal links in same window?

Is there a plugin or extension to have vbulletin add the target=new to links users post to external sites, yet have internal links (to other threads in the same forum) open in the current window?

I just made a custom bbcode called [ link ] which is pretty much what [ url ] is but loads the page in the same window lol.
