I'm pondering upgrading my site tonight with a design that's been in the works since February. I've been up until 3 AM the past few days working on the development server and talking to my beta testers. Convince me not to do it.
My list just off the top of my head:
Close forums
Transfer plugins
Transfer files
Run upgrade scripts
Update wdf_definitions for forumids, etc.
Add FAQ items
Add a couple phrases
Rebuild WDF Notifier to point to proper server
Update vB settings
Make full file/db backup
Put up downtime message
Import TD into reputation system
There's a lot more. I'm looking at five hours straight. I'm literally nervous right now just thinking about doing it. You've never seen vB customized this much before.

Ughhh! I am running 3.0.3 on my largest site soooo I feel ya. I have so much customized coding involved that I just dont think I could recall it all. Of course I have tried saving everything in files for such a case, but I have been through 5 hard drives since then. :p
Maybe tomorrow would be better time to do it. Most people will be sleeping in with hangovers. That way you have tonight to enjoy. :)

yesterday i had to upgrade a 2.x to a 3.5.2 ... the site owner was not even aware that it was possible to do so, so they hacked their site to death... more than 120 big changes to their site at first... and a lot of db mods.
they were happy to see that most of the changes they were interested in were actually integrated since 3.0 .. lol.. and now, their new year's gift... more features in 3.5 .. lol
took me more than 18 hours to do the entire port... they have more than 10 000 members (active) and so, they have big announces to make today.. lol

I strongly suggest putting an enter the forums button in your navbar if you can try and squeeze it in. 'Twas the first place I looked and it took me about 5secs to spot the big box in the main content :) Looks very nice as usual though, with focus entirely on your content. Also great job on the markup (particularly the postbit ;))

Love the skin, though you owned yourself with the claim that you use valid style XD
