Hi,

A lot of plugins / extensions use Private Messages as a way of communicating information to users (i.e. Warning alerts, Arcade challenges, RPG information). However, if a usergroup does not have permission to use private messages, then they won't be able to receive any of these alerts.

A hack which restricts a usergroup's ability to send private messages while still allowing them to receive them would be very useful in my opinion.

Thanks!

Yes, I would agree with this too. I have a site where I would like it that registered members are not able to PM until they have made 30 posts. However it's important they can receive PM's. Currently I just set their PM capacity to a low number and then configure a promotion which brings them into the main membership group once they have made 30 posts.

A nice additional feature to this would be if we could specify which usergroups they may PM to. That way we can allow them to PM admins and moderators but not general members until they are in the main membership group.

This is an interesting request. It will be included in the next release of my Advanced PM Options, which will be released today.

EDIT: RELEASED: Advanced PM Options 1.2.0 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=100152).
