In your AdminCP go to Styles & Templates > Search in Templates > choose your template from the dropdown and in the search box type in navbar :)

Nice one, like it more then my blinking message pm mod. I did change a few things though, since i like my codes clean.

In stead of a full url to private.php, the last will suffice (dont know if it will also work if you have a portal like vbadvanced, guess ill find out soon). Furthermore the image folder is now dynamic, so that the url will work no matter what style you use at that moment.

Also removed the width and height of the image url since its pretty much useless. An image will always be shown by their original sizes if no width or height is added.

Other then that, nice work. Small and clean, just the way I like it. :)

Thanks for presenting another option. I think the reason the newpm.gif isn't showing in your attachment is because it's animated but I think it's easy enough to get what you are saying. :)

Mine works...kind of.

I altered the path just a bit so the image went in the images/misc folder and it appears....BUT it wont stop blinking even if I have no new PM's.

Very strange. I'd rather deal with forcing myself to look for new PM's than deal with a constantly blinking pm

I totally am with you on this issue. Same here, I am using Mozilla Firefox and rarely does the blinking envelope show up. It works great in I.E. but firefox is a problem.

CMPS v2.2.1 and vBulletin 3.6.5 - I used this on the welcome block on portal (Which is what my forum uses) Took me a minute to figure out where to put the code (since it's different from the forum's welcome block) but I got it and it works perfectly... yeah, i noticed it too the one he shared i guess has a limited continuous loop in place thus it only flashes for about 5-10mins [never really checked on the actual time]

here is one that will flash continuously until the # unread PM's ≠ 0

yes, it only shows if the person has an unread PM. I think you can test it by pm'ing yourself...

Then add the new code as listed in the .txt file downloaded. This will put it on your forum home page assuming you have a similiar setup as mine.

nevermind ...wouldnt work on local machine but when i did it on the site it worked ..mine was in the header though ..but i love this ..cause i block pop-ups this is so much easier

it is just normal template mod that is easy enough ..just depends on what theme you have to put it there..if you need help i have an msn account

also just FYI ..check your default theme that vbulletin comes with ..if it shows up there then it is just your other theme having issue and you can move it where you dont want to cause an issue
