Here comes my second style creation :)
Since making the first one was quite fun I decided to bother you with at least one more :D
This time I wanted to make a bright one mainly using red and white/silver/grey (my forum members asked for a replacement for a former red-white one :D) move a bit away from the default layout and most importantly I was aiming at SMALL graphics for FAST loading times.
Well, I think I made at least the last, 'cause the whole style's images folder is less than 200k :D
So, long story short, take a look at the screenshots and if you like it -> INSTALL (hit that button ;))
[EDIT]
I made a variation of this style with an alternate header.
See the last two screenshots and the "blpsnr-althead" archive for the download. :)

Will this work with 3.5 ?
Should work fine with 3.5.1 and 3.5.0 as well yes.
My "live" board is 3.5.1 itself and there are no problems. (yet ;))
AFAIK the 3.5.2 features in the templates will simply not be used (since most stuff if nested in "IFs" anyway) and bugfixes are never bad :)
Also there are not that much templates changed, so the very most will be diplayed with vB's default templates also reducing the probability of problems.

Very nice. Now can you make a black background one with dark red and dark purple color themes. I have been waiting for this clean look and those colors.

Hmm.... I don't know.... is there way of knowing without having to install CMPS? :)
Not a day old and here comes the first update.
I had to change some CSS definitions to solve some issues with FireFox.
Should be fine now.
Just re-import the new .XML with using the "merge style" option for updateing. Thats it.

I need it to change the buttons to my language.

Updated to vB 3.5.3 :)
To upgrade just re-import the style XML by using the "merge into style" option.
That's it :)
omg! this is so cool, one question, how do you ad more links to the navbar?

Hi,
Sorry I am new to this. How do I install this style? I think I have put the upload folder in the wrong directory.
In short I uploaded the "upload" folder to my /forums/ directory and then went to the style manger and applied the new style. I can select the new style but all the images are missing.
Sorry for the noob question :o
Cheers
Ben

did you read the directions first of all....
if you did, this problem would not have arisen.
upload the folder into your forums/images/ directory
and you should be set : :smoke:

Thank you for responding :D
I hear what ya saying but I did rtfm :o ====>>>
"Just upload the contents of the "upload" folder of this archive to your forum's root.
This will add a "blpsnr" folder in your forum's images folder."
I dont mean to be funny/rude but the above directions suggests that I should upload the 'UPLOAD' folder to the "forums" directory (i.e. the root)
It didnt speak of renaming the file.
Sorry to ask for this to be spelt out :
So if i upload the "upload" folder to "forums/images/" it should work?
or do i need to rename the folder? :) or do i just upload "literaly" the content of the "upload " folder but not the folder and its contents - do you see what I mean? :o
Hellcat
01-13-2006, 07:28 PM
It said upload the contents of the upload folder ;)
There's a subfolder in "upload" -> that subfolder goes straight to "images" of your install :)

This is my question also. I sent HELLCAT an email a couple of days ago to the email address that was part of the style. I haven't heard anything back yet. How do you add links to the navbar? I have tried the alternate styles btw and I really like those as well. It will give my members 3 choices for a style without doing any super major changes to the overall look and feel of the site.
Great Job!

Hi.
Sorry, got cought up in work, didn't catch up with my mails yet :-/
If you want to add more links you can edit the "navbar" template.
One way would be to put them right under the forum title logo (like I did on my own boards), in the quicklinks dropdown or under the breadcrump.

Okay, how do I add the calendar to that? That was where I was going with the original email I had sent you. I noticed you included it on your alternate styles but it's not included on the original.

Where do you want it to put?
Quicklinks dropdown?
'cause I think beside the other navbuttons there's not enough space left :-/
Or replayce one of the other links.

It's the "navbar" template.
Look for this:
<!-- user cp tools menu -->
and you got where the quicklinks menu starts.
You can put in more stuff there.

I figured it out. I changed a couple of things but managed to get it in there.

In the navbar template
Before:
<td align="left" class="vbmenu_control"><a href="memberlist.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[members_list]</a></td>
I changed where is said faq.php to calendar.php to the following:
<td align="right" class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]" accesskey="5">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>
I also added the arcade next to logout. Works great.

Where do I go to edit / change the links in the navbar at the top. I looked in the navbar template but it does not seems to be the correct one. I just want to add some links ie a link to the gallery, and a link to the front page (CMPS). Any help would be great thanks.

Hellcat there is some problem is the threaded mode. I am getting an UndefinedUndefinedUndefined.....text before the post title in the threaded mode title box on the top. If I scroll horizontally I can still see the titles at the end and if I click it they work fine. I disabled all hooks to the forum. vBulletin support checked it and they said,
"The problem is the javascript code that seems to be part of your custom style. The error should not be present in a default style."
Actually I using it with 3.6.0. Hellcat, can you please give me any clue on how to solve this javascript conflict with this style and the threaded mode box?
