if any of you get a free second, perhaps you could take a look at my forum and site. Suggetions and feedback would be very much appreciated, as i am very new to all this web design stuff, and although i used vbulletin for my forum i designed the web site from scratch and would appriciate any comments on my efforts
cheers

Way too many forum and I would suggest running a spell check before posting a forum description.

might I suggest moving the shoutbox to the bottom. Although a nice gimmick, it is somewhat of an eyesore to the forum and doesnt really give first time visitors a neat impression.
Besides, those that use it will know where it is.
Other than that, it seemed really dark, might need a little more contrast but overall I liked it.

thanks for the feedback so far folks, took some advice and moved the shoutbox to the bottom, it was a valid point you made, and as for the colour took a poll of the members so far and they voted for the style, but it is a tad dark and i'm gonna play around with the style when i get a bit more used to this whole new world lol
any other feedback would be very much appreciated guys and gals
Way too many forums
took this into consideration also and made categories for easier navigation,
thanks for the suggestion

The style needs refining. Having the same background colour and table colours is not a good thing. You want to seperate the tables from the background by making them different colours.

Via the Style Settings in your Admin CP.. the same place you changed it when you made your current style.

Graphics look horrible, but the forum itself doesn't look bad. But I never have spent much time on the dark colored forums - hurts the eyes.
