Showing latest posts on a Non-VB page?

Hi guys,

I've done a search for this but not come up with anything but a script which allows me to show the latest X posts titles on my homepage...

I'm looking for one which will allow me to show the last couple of posts from a certain forum (a News forum) on the homepage, so I can post updates up through the forums.

I know this is a part of vB Portal, but don't want to use this... anyone got any ideas or know of any Mods that will do this?

I too am interested in a modification that does this, particularly something that uses JavaScript.
