I'd like to hear from the pros. What's the best way to store your attachements? I just noticed that vbulletin allows you to select this option. Our database is very large. Most of it is attachements, only 300MB's is data.

Depends on the amount of available disk space you have.
Some hosts offer only 100 MB of diskspace (for instance) but doesn't monitor SQL storage space. That's why vBulletin has the option to store avatars and attachments in the database.
If you have 5GB+ then you (YA) RLY should store both those things in the FS, to allow for quicker backups and restoration of said.

For performance reason, file system for attachments all the time.
