All search words shorter then 4 positions would be discarded. Searching on very common words (like 'post') could lead to timeouts, giving you the error you got.

and same result

Yes searching for 'post' will very likely cause an error.

well that depends on what you want. if you want to search for 'first post on top' try just searching for 'first' but in titles only.

Try to be a specific as possible so you don't get so many results.

I was having a problem the other day (and another day prior I believe) where when I searched, after a couple of seconds, about when I was expecting the results, I would get a page not found. I would keep trying and trying, and sometimes it would work, but mostly it didn't.

Today it seems to work, but this is I guess off topic. :) It was probably a problem with my browser or something? Oh well, who cares.

It doesn't seem to matter Tony. We either get a "Sorry! No results..." message, or a blank page as shown below.

Strange though that everyone else seems to be having problems. I always find what I am looking for on my first search attempt. Maybe it's because I search by version forum and by titles only. It brings a lot less results that way so you can be less specific in your search text.

... that's because Kay use her brain and know how the forum is structured... ;)

search the site feedback forum for search problems - they are common and go back months if not longer.
