Idea for vb.org (VB3.5x upgrade)

Supporters / CoAuthors
- Option for main author to share Hack updates (co - admin)

When the main author that uploads the hack adds a team mate have a choice for them to update the main hack or not and the main post of the hack.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea.

Was this ever looked into? It would be nice if a CoAuthor could update the hack and also receive credit for installs.

Yes it was looked into - it would require too many changes to the basic thread/post permissions checking to make it realistic.

what about at least giving them installs and show on their profile?

Yea I used that search feature in a better way after I posted that. Found the answer. :(

I cannot enter a supporter for my mod. I tried to enter a UserID to the field Supporter/CoAuthor, but it does not save it. Is it broken atm?

You should enter the username, not the userid.

Ahh. Thanks, it works now. Does a supporter see if someone has clicked installed?

I believe they do.

Yes, they can see the version + install + not downloaded post bit segments.

I agree -- this should be implemented.

I agree -- this should be implemented.

Would require messing with default permissions to accomplish this. I doubt that it would be an easy task to accomplish and opens the staff up to handling co-author disputes.

Well, there's always going to be disputes with everything. If there wasn't, then I wouldn't like to know what this world would be like. ;)

This request was basically answered in post #4.

Couldn't you allow the mod settings page to be edited?
