If not forgive me :dead:
From the archives Readme:
Coppermine 1.4.2
Working vBulletin 3.0.x *AND* 3.5.x bridge script
================================================== =
Hi everyone!
Since the bridgescript that comes with Coppermine 1.4.2 for vBulletin doesn't work at all I started digging in the script and corrected it to finally work.
While I was at it I also added support for the vBulletin 3.5.x branch :)
Installation:
Easy!
Just upload the "vbulletin30.inc.php" from this archive into your Coppermine's bridge folder while OVERWRITING the existing one.
You can then launch the bridgemanager (http:/www.yourdomain.tld/gallery/bridgemgr.php) and set everthing up.
That should have done it.
If you followed all the instructions from the manual and the bridgemanager you should now have a fine working Coppermine with your vBulletin.
I tested this myself on my own forums with the following setups:
Coppermine 1.4.2 -> vBulletin 3.0.3
Coppermine 1.4.2 -> vBulletin 3.5.1
See it working live in action at http://forum.skill-club.com/gallery/
Have fun!

Thanks a lot....... boy oh boy I have spend so much time to make the integration in the past and that didn't work.
Now it's running like a charm
Small Question:
I cann't find handling usergroups in the integration, is it in the manual or are my eyes still closed ? :ermm:

I cann't find handling usergroups in the integration, is it in the manual or are my eyes still closed?
when you do the integration, the only thing it asks for are user ranks and privileges associated with their post count. however, that would IMPLY that it's taking userranks [and their permissions as ranks and/or groups] into account when granting access to the gallery. CPG by default only has ADMIN, USER, BANNED as usergroups anyways, so it would seem that during integration, that would be all that is carried over from vB...groups 1,4 & 8
i'm wondering if you unbridge then create usergroups in CPG to match those in vB [mod, supermod, etc], then reran the bridge wizzard, would the bridge support those usergroups in CPG? something to try...

I did set the usergroeps to no "ranks and privileges associated with their post count" and now I see the usergroups you mentioned and all is working.
Next I did unbridge the cmine and greated usergroups as a copy from my board. Cmine accepted that, but after re-bridge my 'manual setted usergroups' were gone. And the old standard was there again
Anyway thanks for the prompt help

Should work with 3.5.0 as well since all added to the bridge was the "understanding" of the new 3.5.x config file.
Next I did unbridge the cmine and greated usergroups as a copy from my board. Cmine accepted that, but after re-bridge my 'manual setted usergroups' were gone. And the old standard was there again
Yes, that's right.
While in bridge mode CPG uses only the groups it gets from vB - all stand-alone settings are lost while in bridging. (Also stated that way in the manual).
After enabling bridgemode, just go to "Usergroups" while in CPG Admin-Mode.
It will then sync with your vB groups and you can edit all permissions for your corresponding vB groups, i.e. assign differnet permissions for each group.
As in "Registered" can't have private ablums but "Premium Member" can and so on....
No need to make a copy into CPG Stand-Alone. :)
Hmm, it's not in the design of your forum! Does it mean, it is just not possible or you haven't done it?
The bridge so far only integrates using the forum's login and the usergroup/user handling.
Integrating it into the design of vB is a whole other story.
Should be possible, yes.... Just not yet done, but I'll try ;)

Nice one, thank you Hellcat.
It installs fine but I have one problem which I'm not able to solve.
After running the bridgemgr.php the integration works and the users are automatically logged into Coppermine and can upload pics and all but when clicking on "User galleries" they always get the following error: "Critical error: There was an error while processing a database query"
If I setup other galleries it works fine, the error is only with "User galleries".
Did somebody have the same error and maybe have a fix for it?

Did you do a full stand alone install of CPG before bridging?
You need to have CPG completely running before enabling bridgemode.
If you did do so, I don't have an idea to this at the moment....

Thanks for your reply Hellcat.
I did a full stand alone install and tested all the functions including the "User galleries" link. As soon as I enable the bridging the "User galleries" link comes up with the error. When I disable bridging, the link is fine again. Maybe it conflicts with some of the other plugins installed.

You seem to be trying to install the standalone Coppermine into your Nuke portal.
This version can only be used as standalone!
Some server setups might display this warning even though you don't have a nuke portal installed - if this is the case for you, continue with the install. If you are using a nuke portal, you might want to take a look into CpgNuke or use one of the $(unsupported) coppermine ports - do not continue

Very strange.
Sorry, no idea about that at the moment, it's working fine here and seems OK for all the others, so there has to be a "special" problem....
Sorry but i don't have idea this be done...

Just the normal version.
Try ignoring that message (like it suggests) if you have nothing to do with PHPNuke and only want to integrate it into vB.
The script seems to "think" there's a PHPNuke when there isn't....

I am truly puzzled as to why I don't have this file and why the bridge manager isn't in the admin of the coppermine

If you have "Coppermine Gallery" installed on your site (or going to install) and you want it to use the vBulletin login info and your forum's users/groups you can "bridge" (a.k.a. integrate) CPG (=Coppermine Gallery) into vB.
But the script that comes with CPG does not work.
This is a corrected version.
However I have no clue about that user gallery thing.
Everthing working fine on my board, so can't figure that one out.... :ermm:

Ugh, for me, everything works fine until it asks for the relative forum url. I entered ../Forum/ as the relative and http://www.themotec.com/Forum as the forum URL, yet I get an error saying that the config cannot be found, and it actually shows the correct path...why is this :(

What's the location of your CPG install, what path/URL?
I got confused by that part as well when I first installed it....
For an example, my settings are:
Forum URL = http://forum.skill-club.com
(CPG is running at the URL "http://forum.skill-club.com/gallery/")
Relative path = ../

First of all I am very happy and greatefull that you made the bridge working at all.
First I had the problem that there is only an echo 3.0.x and nothing else happens than i commented the echo away so there is no output before the actual script starts. now loggin in and out does work suffitiantely.
There remains a small but nasty problem that when loggin in the refferer is transmitted but not executed after sucessfull login. Therefore the user is not redirected back to the coppermine but remains on the forum index page.
Whereas when logging out from the gallery the refferer works fine.
where do I have to look for the problem?
With best regards from Berlin

I'm getting the same error with the user galleries as Xzyte did.
I'm wondering if perhaps we're actually meant to edit the vbulletin30.inc.php from this hack with our values where it's got "http://www.yousite.com/vb3", etc, or if it was just meant to be uploaded as is like the instructions seemed to say.
Hellcat
12-15-2005, 07:04 AM
Hmm, it's just meant to be uploaded. No edits to the PHP itself are necessary since every config detail is either read from vB's config.php or entered in the bridge manager....
I'll dig some deeper into this, maybe I find something....

Hi, I've installed Coppermine and got the bridge working. Excellent - thank you! However, I have several user groups and chose the option to use them when setting up the bridge. So I'm using the usergroups from my Vb. Unfortunately, whilst it is using the groups, the names of the groups (seen when you want to restrict certain albums to certain user groups) is only listing the first letter/character of each group.
So the Registered users group just become R. Admin- A, Moderators- M etc etc. I can just about identify which is which, but users when they want to restrict access to their own private albums have no idea!
I tried renaming then via the Admin > Groups but they just went back to a single character again. It's not a huge problem but any ideas?

can someone with that error put CPG in debugmode (found under "Maintanance Settings" in the main Config) and send me the complete debug-output via PM (atfer eventually "*"ing out anything noone is supposed to see ;))

That logout thing (vB says "click here to logout") seems to be common,I have that well, it's because some cookie hash is not given on the logout URL or such.
IMHO that's not sooo bad.
However general problems with loggin in/out seems to be some serious in CPG itself and/or the bridge system.
I think this also the cause of the usergallery problem, 'cause from the debug info I got it seemed like bridge was active but actually not really used for logging in users.
Unfortunately that's the only clue I got so far.
I tried several different installs/situations to recreate that problem - no luck :(
One thing I got during my experients was that after DISABELING the bridge I haven't been able to login to CPG at all.
Seems to something more deep down :-/

2) Are the usergroups controlled in vB or in CPG or both locations?
Thanks in advance.
1) not sure on this. have to look myself ;)
2) They are controlled sort of in both.
Once you added/removed a usergroup in vB go to the groups manager in CPG.
This will sync the usergroups over and you can then set the CPG permissions for each usergroup-

It's an add-on basically for coppermine. You can call pics from your galleries on pages outside of coppermine with it.

There is a line in cpmfetch_dao.php that you need to change depending on the version of cpm. Between line 55-65, there is a var $sqlPictureAlbumSelect line, reverse which one is commented out. That will fix that error message.
Also check out this thread on coppermine: http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/index.php?topic=19564.0

i found a small bug.
Steps:
1. Go in your forums log in (tick remember me)
2. Enter Gallery (it shows you as loggen in)
3. Close Broswer/Start Browser
4. Access gallery (without visiting forums first it shows you as logged out.)
The bug of the bridge is that you have to first access vbulletin and then access gallery to show you as logged in. Most you don't care because your main page is vbulletin forums but for people that using another cms not intergrated to vb this is a problem. I also check this bug in myetalk where The Chief is using joomla vb right ?
Can you please fix this ?
Please i beg you i tested everything and it's working great i even fixed the template to fit the rest of my site and then i found this really annoying bug that kepts me away from using coppermine instead of my current gallery :disappointed:

Not easiely, since CPG utilizes the session cookie of vB rather than the "remeber me" cookie(s).
Once you're inactive for a set ammount of time, or close the browser, the session cookie expires.
To change this hacking the CPG files would be neccesary....

Ok, I have almost the reverse problem. When a user is in the gallery section for over the amount of the vb cookie(1200 - 20 minutes), and goes back to vb, you are no longer logged in. This is with the remember me box set to unchecked. I have this box hidden and always set to unchecked so if they close their browser, they will always have to re-login.
I realize I can increase the cookie timeout in vb, but I don't to inflate the online users in the who's online page.
So how can I update the activity of the vb cookie, or whatever is timing out in vb, *IN* the coppermine pages? Is there a vb function I can call to update it?

I am running into a problem while bridging.
First I tried from a different domain, I got the error message that the brdiging tool could not find the ../includes/config.php file.
Well then I tried doing the same thing from the same domain, but still no go, same error.
Now it could be how the wizard is set up.
I have my forum installed in a sub domain, instead of a folder under www.etc.com
So my current test
forum.mydomain.com
and
www.mydomain.com/Gallery
Would love to see this bridging work.
Thanks for your attention.

Im having a bit of trouble getting this to work. When I use the inc.php file, all of the settings that I could make in the bridge manager are greyed out and it doesn't work. If I use the included bridge script, I get an undefind method udb_connect() or something. If I disable bridging, everything works.
Can someone help?
Were exactly do you enter the info like database name, password and such, so it can actually grab the user files?? Do I have to edit the inc.php file? I am running 3.5.4 and the latest coperrmine

I just put a link to it in my vB's header template and made a tiny page linking to it for the portal.
Nothing wild :)

There are severall threads which explain the "how to" on the coppermine board itself, they do it much better then I could ever do :)

I have the same issue
Same issue
I have two problems with coppermine bridge. I tried this file and the bridge file included in 1.4.6.
1. Everytime I try to log out of coppermine, I get this error message:
An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out.
This problem has been mentioned before, but there has been no solution. Hellcat thinks that cookie hash is not given on the logout url. Does nobody know a fix?
Nibbler, a coppermine developer, said this: It may not be possible to obtain the logout hash externally. You'd need to look through the code and determine how it is implemented. Can this be integrated into the bridge?
2. It looks like you are not redirected to coppermine after logging in and that you are redirected to the forum after logging out (from coppermine). The phpbb bridge is better. You are redirected to the gallery after login and after logout, too.
Can this be improved?
GauGau, another coppermine developer, said this:
This is by design of the bbs app you use (in your case vb). Some bbs apps support redirect after login (e.g. phpbb or smf), some don't. Those that don't support it should indeed have a button in the forum navigation that can send the user back to coppermine. This is by design and can hardly be changed by coppermine coders.
I really hope these two issues can be solved.

I have found this thread: vB Login & Info on non-vB page (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=96013&highlight=logout+hash)
Looks like the hash code is called by this hack. How can you integrate this into coppermine bridge?

ok...i understand how to integrate coppermine...but how do i get it to display inside a vbulletin page?
Use cpmfetch:
http://cpmfetch.fistfullofcode.com/
There is a detailed documentation, but if you need support, you can ask here:
http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/index.php?board=57
I was trying to restrict pic view for guests. They should only be able to see the thumbnail, but not the actual picture. This is the solution for it:
Edit displayimage.php and add
if (!USER_ID) cpg_die(ERROR, 'You need to register to access this page', __FILE__, __LINE__);
just before
/************************************************** ************************
* Local functions definition
************************************************** ************************/
http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/faq.php?q=viewThumbnailsOnly#viewThumbnailsOnly
The problem is that it allows users who haven' t confirmed their email address yet to see the full size picture.
How do I disable full size view for unconfirmed users, too?
I'm getting an odd error when I try to enable BBS Integration: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class core_udb in /home/.aurora/elusiveworks/elusive-works.co.uk/forums/coppermine/bridge/udb_base.inc.php on line 22
Does anyone know of a fix for this? Or did I just do something stupid by installing Coppermine 1.4.8 instead of 1.4.2, and this mod got outdated that way?

I've just tested this with vb3.6.0b4 and receive the the same class redeclaration error as other above. However, when investigating what had been accomplished by the bridge I found that everything seems to be working as expected.
I'd be curious if anyone knew what might I might investigate further. Given that the class did seem to perform, Im not exactly sure if any problems exist.

Can you elaborate on this? I ave installed G2 and can't seem to integrate it the way I would like which is why I am now looking at Coppermine. When users are logged into vbulletin and then browse the Galleries, Coppermine does not count their views on photos. Only when guests are viewing pics do photo views get counted. http://galleries.avrilbandaids.com to see the problem.
