1) Create a new usergroup that can access the forum
2) Add a promotion from a regular usergroup to new usergroup based on posts
3) Done

You can use a Promotion to a Secondary usergroup.

Yeah. Make a new usergroup that would have no permissions but access to that forum. Being a secondary usergroup, it will act as a complement to the primary usergroup, successfully accomplishing your goal.

I was also looking for something like this, so i also did it with the extra usergroup.

The only problem is, i want that the members see the section and how much posts/reply's there are in that section but when they click on it they will get a message that they need min. X posts to see al this.

This is only possible by coding i think
I want give up searching :p

You could set 'View content' to no for the usergroup.

That option is only for vb 3.5 ?
