View Full Version : Change the ACP Display Order of Side Groups
calorie

This mod lets you change the ACP display order of side groups. This is rather handy if you spend a lot of time in the ACP - bounce 'that' group on top - see the attachment - especially if you don't like to scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scr...
Remember to refresh your ACP index page to see the display order group after install.

I'd love it if it saved the preferences... I spend most of my time online in the ACP, and am forever scrolling up and down and mistaking links for others. :)

The mod now remembers your settings. If you are using the old version, actually uninstall the old version, and then import the new version.

YOU CAN'T MOVE THE PLUGIN FROM THE TOP
Whats the point of re-arranging things if yours is at the top of all my stuff!!!!

Not sure how you meant your post, but it comes off as, uh, well, rude. :ermm:
Maybe you meant to write, "I noticed the display order group cannot be moved. Is there a way to change that?"

And to answer my own question, yes, if you are using the old version, actually uninstall the old version, and then import the new version so the display order group can be moved.

This hack seems to create problems in allowing other 'new' items ( hacks ) being shown in admincp !?

Does not have the option to move vbA_CMPS either

The mod should now account for duplicate navgroup displayorder. If you are using the old version, actually uninstall the old version, and then import the new version.

This is great as I was able to alphabetize everyhting which makes it a lot easier to find stuff. Only request is to be able to add a seperator to specify your own groupings.

Dear Sir, ty so much for ur very usefull plugin and *installed*
I loaded it on my Vbull 3.5.3 and seems to work very nice as 1st admin.
I have some coadmins and to them some funcions are disabled.
Now, all it works untill is loaded your program and no changes are made on sort. When i do change on my panel the sorting to the order display, then on the coadmin panel will begin to report a lot of erros just above the list (just under vbull logo)
I quote herebelow errors.
What can I do to solve the situation?
I apologize for my bad english.
regards

The mod should now reset orders when a new group is added and show only to the top admins. If you are using the old version, actually uninstall the old version, and then import the new version attached in the release post.

dear Calorie.
Im new on vbull so I started from 3.5.2 (coming from phpbb) and i downloaded and *installed* your plugin for the very first time few days back after i upgraded to vbull 3.5.3.
By the way as per your suggestion I downloaded again it even if I saw that is the same version. to avoid confusion i unloaded it and reloaded from the last download.
Unfortunatelly happen the same thing.
If you would like to see it I can prepare for you an admin account and via PM we can share details.

Try editing the ACP Display Order admin_global plugin, finding:
$acp_display_order_access = 0;
if (defined('VB_AREA') && VB_AREA == 'AdminCP')
{
// blah blah
}
And replacing with the following:
$acp_display_order_access = 0;
if (defined('VB_AREA') && VB_AREA == 'AdminCP'
&& $vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] == 1)
{
$acp_display_order_access = 1;
}
So only userid one can use this mod.

After upgrading ibproarcade from 2.53 to 54 on the left frame of the acp was an error on the upper part showing (forget to save it), and no ibpro menu. GARS was also 1 missing entry. After disabling the hack it's now ok.

Uninstall the old product, download the mod in the release post, and install anew. This mod tries to recognize when there are multiple side groups with the same displayorder number, but if not just uninstall and reinstall.

After refreshing your ACP index page, the display groups bit isn't there? Do you have any other cpnav_namehere.xml file in your /forum/includes/xml directory besides cpnav_vbulletin.xml?

Yep, I do. I take it that this hack is incompatible with other cpnav files?

It should work with other cpnav files, unless perhaps one of those cpnav files sets the navgroup display order to zero, as this mod uses zero for its group.

Are you importing this mod as a product (vB ACP -> Plugin System -> Manage Products -> [Add/Import Product]) or as a plugin (vB -> Plugin System -> Download / Upload Plugins)? It need to be as a product import.
What about other mods? For example, Enhanced ACP Nav and this mod do not play well together. Do any of your other mods use the admin_global or admin_index_navigation hook, or modify the $navigation variable?

Yes, I import it as a product. I dont have any other enhanced navigation hacks. I'll try disabling everything that uses the hooks to see if it works.

hmmm..... not working for me. :( installed it but nothing appears in acp (no display order). yes, I refreshed. even logged in and out.
I have lots of hacks installed....is there anything to look for that may cause a conflict. or trigger that would cause it to not display?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
