OK thanks. Now it shows only the ones that have referred after May 23. However, it still gives the pagination for 12 pages. Except for the first, the other pages are blank.

Any idea what to do?

I figured it out. I had a cut off date and the istructions say you need to use

dd-mm-yyyy that caused the error. SO I tried mm-dd-yyyy and the errors are gone.

kevinrstruck
06-16-2006, 06:45 PM
I take that back. THis is really strange but:

If I put a cutoff date in of 01-04-2006 (April 1, 2006) it works fine. If I put in a date of 01-05-2006 (may 1, 2006) I get the errors. IT seems that adding anything past April 1, 2006 in the cuttoff date gives me the error.

kevinrstruck
06-16-2006, 07:06 PM
Also, no referrals are showing for anydate past April 29th.

Is there a CRON job that runs in VB that may not be functioning properly or something and that is affecting the output of this mod?

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /referrers.php on line 117

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /referrers.php on line 124

Also I signed up for a test account from a referrer link from one of my other accounts and the activity did not show up.

See http://www.thefreeadforum.com/vbull/referrers.php

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I haven't gone through each post, so I do not know if this has already been suggested, but how about an addendum of a points module?

ie: in admincp you can set refferal=Xpoints, and refferalpost=Xpoint.

therefore if I set one to 10 and the other to 1, I have 2 refferals, and my refferals posts totall 200 posts, and my friend has 10 refferals and each has 2 posts, I would have 220 points, and my friend would have 120.

i think that would be an easier way to sort it out, ouinon?

cryptkeeper (10034 pts)
user2 (9945 pts)
user3 (8945 pts)
user4 (45 pts)
user5 (5 pts)

just as an addon, next to your name have the points.

Find

<td class="$navclass[signature]" nowrap><a class="smallfont" href="referrers.php">Referral Statistics</a></td>

That's how I did it anyway, may be sloppy I dunno.

In my admincp:
Date cutoff: This is useful for referral contests. Any referrers or referrals that joined before this date will be excluded from the Statistics. The date must be entered in format DD-MM-YYYY. If you set it to 0 it will display all results.

I'm in Europe where we put the date at DD-MM-YYYY so if I enter 13-08-2006 then I get a totally blank page when viewing /forums/referrers.php - to fix the blank page problem you have to input the date as MM-DD-YYYY but then it's showing as no referalls having been made since 13th August 2006 when in fact the latest referral was this afternoon.

Hello Everyone and Michelle,

Michelle,

I really love your mod, but there is one slight problem when trying to create an effective contest and implementing it.

What I am trying to do is create a contest for all my users to be rewarded for the most referrals in a given month.

I would like them to be able to see their standing on your "Referrer Statistics" mod. However when you set the cutoff date to just show the referrals for the current month, you are also cutting off any users that registered prior to that date as well.

Therefore the contest can only be for people that have joined and have had referrals within the same contest month if I am wanting the results to show up on the monthly referral contest.

So.... I am aware Michelle that you are not actively supporting this mod at the moment, so I am asking anyone else if they know how to change the mod to be able to show referral results dictated by the cutoff date but for all users regardless of their register date.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank You,

Nuguru :)

I am using the referrer statistics and the vbBux/vbPlaza modifications to administer the referral part of a contest I'm running on forums this month. The vbBux gives out points regardless of whether you stipulate a minimum amount of posts, so the referrer statistics is a good way of administrating the contest at the end (i.e. removing points for referrals not over X amount of posts.

Hope this helps.

#1 I'm on 3.6, but this seems to work anyway.

So.

Will this hack, or another, allow users to refer a new user to a thread, and then get credit when they register? Like this:

Rather than sending someone to the register page with the link

http://forums.yoursite.com/register.php?referrerid=16258

they send to a thread with the referal link:

http://forums.yoursite.com/showthread.php?t=18974?referrerid=16258

If not, is there a hack out there that will do this?

The cut off date is buggy.

Im doing a referral contest each month so i set the date to 01-12-2006 and then it only shows members that has registered since that date..

Like Member1 registered 29th of november, and overall he has 13 referrals, Member2 registered 4th of december, and overall he has 2 refferals.
But when i set the date to 01-12-2006 (the 1st of december) it shows Member2 as the winner because Member1 signed up before the cut off date.. do you think you can fix this ?

Can Someone make the Cut off dates Work on 3.6.5 !! Thanks !

I just got this thing to work after I needed it to run a recruitment contest.

First (very important - and this messed me up till I saw the code): You must enter the dates as DD-MM-YYYY not DD/MM/YYYY.

Second, the code provided earlier in this thread works, but it shows entries for people who recruited prior to the cutoff, but with zero recruitments.

The fix I did was to a simple typo. I have attached to this message a working copy of the code.

This worked for me, your mileage may vary.

Hello,

I like this mod showing referrer details.

Want to know if this words on vB version 3.6.3 onwards?
ALso, can any member run to find out their referrer statistics? Will they be able to see the referrals made by other members?

Please let me know.

Does not appear to be working properly on 3.6.8 - it does not show some members. I was running this fine on older versions, but does not appear to work with 3.6.8. Sigh. Anyone know any alternatives?

I got it all up but where do you place the referrers link on your templates? Would it come up with the link or is there an option where you can make it come up like 'Referrers' - then you click on it and it takes you to referrers? I am using 3.6.8. Thanks.

I have it working on 3.6.x.

One thing though, if you still update it that is :D
Can you implement an option to automaticly remove old referrers (ones that have been inactive since x period).

thanks

Excellent mod thanks, working fine for me on 3.8.3.

One suggestion I would make for future versions, would be an option to only count a member as a referral once they (i.e the person who was referred) have made x number of posts.

How can I change the message that comes up...
Invite your friends to join our forum and increase your referral count as well by linking them here via the following link:
I would like to include something about not spamming with this link and maybe a suggestion about adding it to an email signature instead. Can this be done?
