Hello everyone, alright well I have brought back my military site...had to clean up the old code from the skin that was just hard coded into our 3.0.3 default template and turn it in to a stand-a-lone skin (XML, CSS). Anyhow, if you could please take a look and let me know what you think, that would be great! :)

Thanks!

Nice... colours and CSS really suit the site theme and content. I wondered where you had got to as I hadn't seen you online or your forum anywhere for ages.

Hi there, thanks for taking a look!
Ya I had decided to completely redo the site and start over. The site took a turn towards another topic and the true subject of the board was lost. Things are back to the way they were, however, now comes the hard task of getting back all of my members and getting content on the community.
Also, the style that was on there was from 3.0.3 and was hard coded into the default template, therefore, I ported the skin into 3.5 the right way (making the skin independent of the default)
Thanks again :)

It's nice, the scheme is decent and that. But template wise, not much has been done. Might wanna work on that aspect of your style.

Header is HUGE!
It takes up a lot of valuable space ... I recommend cutting it's height in half.
Remove the LOGIN block on center column on main page -- you already have one in navbar area.
You could also remove the SEARCH block on main page -- you already have this feature in your navbar.
Regarding the theme -- it's dull and boring. It needs some excitement!

Alright, let me explain what I was looking for...I only wanted positive comments ;)
Ok the header may be an issue due to the fact that it displays random images, as well as displaying banners for Community Sponsors. I will look into it though.
@princeton thanks for reminding me, I have the search and login box removed now :)
The theme is dull and boring? What would you suggest to bring more "excitement"
Thanks everyone for taking a look!

A balance in critique is necessary to be of any help.
It hurts to hear anything negative on something that you have been working on; but, it's good to be open-minded especially when you want it to be successful.

Add some "action" images with vibrant colors.
Also .. at first glance, your site looked like a "game" site. I highly recommend adding some images of "real" people / "real" stuff. If you at least do this ... you will convert lurkers into members more frequently. It will also change the "mood" of the site.

LOL I was just messing around, I understand how the feedback system works, of course there is going to be things that people will feel needs to be changed :)
Hmmm seems like a game site, guess the title: "Weapon Depot -- Your Weapon, Military, and Law Enforcement Community" is not jumping out at anyone. Maybe I should put a description in the welcome module for visitors?
That is a good suggestion...I think I will take out some of the weapon images in the header and get some Military and LE images to add.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will get to work :)
