View Full Version : Anyone interested in showing their avatars like mine?

We designed the forum so that we show our avatars like a post header rather than an avatar. The user can choose from around 100 avatars. Would someone be interested in a documentation on how we did it?

Dont think this belongs in the release section since there isnt any actual release yet - however I think people would be interested in it - not my thing but kudos to the fresh idea. Im sure youll get plenty of interest.

Sorry if i posted in the wrong forum. Thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to see if more ppl are interested in this. If enough people wants to see this, i might write something down or release the style.

Just do it anyway, in my experience people often won't respond to questions like this, but will download it if they are interested.

This mod could be very cool for some sites, although it doesn?t fit for me. Feel free to release it, it?s just a little template change and a setting for avatars that makes it makes a very good impression for people who are already used to forums (always kind of same layout, etc.)

BTW i like your style :)

Hydrostatic: Very nice site there. It would go perfect with this template modification. The easiest thing for me to do would be to release the style, but that would make it harder for ppl that run custom styles they made themselves so i guess i have to do a documentation. It will take a while to do it, but ill prolly get on it then. If you got any questions in the meantime, please send me an email or post it here and i will try to answer them as good as i can! :D

The tricky bit with this modification is that you need to edit not only the postbit (which is the easy part)... I had to redesign the whole control panel. See, the avatars are so wide, so the navigation panels got pushed to the side to far, and instead i did a modification so that the navigation panes are on top of the screen now. Register a user and u can see what im talking about.

Dittos, I would have to recreate a lot of my avatars though. Is there a way to make it backward compatible with 100x100 avatars? Say fill the empty space with filler?
