I think this was never included since it is very riskfull to rely on a webbased restore operation.

it is illogical and impossible to act a de-backup on a production site...

for one single reason: you can't replace a content by a new content without breaking the action started...

visually: you are on the highway, riding your car... you want to change your car... right now... can you jump on the car besides of you just right now ?!... impossible, you are at high speed, and if you try to, you will hit the road with your head first, break your neck, crack your skull, break one or two legs, and even pass under the car behind you in your fall...

samme thing for de-backup your site...
