New Posts Toolbar in Browser

Is it possible to create a toolbar for the browser that shows the "new posts"-box from the forumhome?

There's software out there that allows people to create their own browser intergrated toolbars, but the ones I've encountered have been ad-supported.

If someone knows of entirely free ones, I'd like this too.

A very good idea. I'd love to offer this option to members. And I am sure many would love the possibility.

For Firefox, a useful tutorial for creating toolbars is http://www.borngeek.com/firefox/tutorial/

No idea for Internet Explorer I'm afraid, I suspect you'd need a copy of Visual Studio to be able to create a toolbar.
