View Full Version : Jukebox for 3.5?
Snake

Hey guys, I am really looking for a jukebox for 3.5.1 as I haven't seen any so far. Or how about porting this hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=74170) with the author's permission, of course. :D
Please anyone? :(
Snake

Please can someone do it? What do you want? Money? Ladies? Food? Anything.

i'm with ya. I wonder if Trafix is working on an update to 3.5.1. If this could be done and be compatible with the Plugin system... oh my lord.

Ok, I was bored.
I converted the files over to vB 3.5 variables, and minimally cleaned up the code. I have not tested for any typos, havent checked anything, I just converted the files.
If anyone wants to create an installer and create the settings in the admin panel, go ahead. I will probably do that if I am in the mood in the next couple days, but if anyone wants to do so, go ahead. :)

oh man bigfoot that rocks so much! looks like we have a reason to upgrade to 3.5.1
is tikigames your site? You have a donate button somewhere? you deserve a paypal reward...

If you do want to donate, you can, my paypal address is bfoot045[at]gmail.com
But, don't think you are compelled to do so, only do it if you really want to. :)
But, anyways, if I do get donations, I'll work and try getting everything perfectly operational in the next day or two. (Gotta create the installer and null file edits -> plugins)
Thanks. :)

Ok, Updates. :)
I finished adding the settings, creating permissions, and fixing up the code tonight.
To Do:
* Add phrases
* Create Installer/Uninstaller Code
* Optimize Code (May be done in later versions, first release might be a straight port)
* Add templates

Any news so far, bfoot?
I have a working copy of it, one screenshot attached below.
The templates he had on the 3.0.x version do not validate and are not very nice looking. :\
So, I am cleaning the code up, cleaning up the templates, then I'll probably need 1-2 people to test for bugs and such, then to release I'll need to get something back from trafix. :\
Gotta add some missing phrases as you can tell from the screenshot as well. :\

Hi there my name is Matt and i recently paid someone to install the jukebox on my site which is running 3.50
Now I have little to no experience of VB and hence to say it does not work, I gather now this is because of incompatabilities.
I have seen people are working on getting this going in 3.50. Would someone please contact me on
matt@igem.org.uk
I would be happy to pay you anyone to reconfigure the file and/or would be happy to get some instructions from you to get it working.

Ok well, updates.
Unforutuantly, I cannot release a version of vB Jukebox for 3.5 that Trafix made. He has not been online for months and I have no way of getting in touch with him.
Because of this, I have started a rewrite of the code, this is a reletively simple hack, so it didn't take long to get the framework coded. (I am about 20 % finished with the whole thing). Because I have a very busy week this week, I will probably distribute copies of the code to select people to debug within 1-2 weeks.
I did attach a picture of how the new one will look (basically, the index).

Patience, I would rather wait a week or two for better code, then get something now with lots of problems. I believe the hack is in the works, but it isn't something that can be created overnight (at least for most of us) :P hehe
I'd give it a solid week before thinking it would be done, or close to being done. Besides, the Holidays are practically here, and like most people (US stateside), hacks can be put on hold for this occasion. :)

Ok, well, updates.
I have most of the basic backend done for the most part, I still have to do the commenting system, but that shouldnt take too long.
I am going to take off wednesday, thursday, possibly friday for thanksgiving. So that might delay things a bit, but I will have a beta out soon, we are not too far off. :)
Well, here is the almost completed frontpage (still gotta add links, that's it though.)

(See Screenshot)
I have the comments system up, rating system is in the backend, parser is setup (as you can see, a smilie is parsed. :P).
I'm pretty much done with everything except the posting stuff:
ACP control
Add New Media
Add New comment
And then the beta is pretty much ready to go. :)

I'm getting there. ;)
Ok well today:
Cleaned up the frontpage
Add new media function is completed (still have to optimize and debug)
Comment's system clean up.
To do:
Administration side of things.
Edit templates
Comment System posting interface (Currently I just insert comments via the database so I can show you guys some pictures, so I gotta add the post functions for the comment system.
Debugging, code cleanup
Ugh (Ill do this for the final, this is the nasty part of the job. ^_^) Phrasing, beta will include minimal phrasing.
Another Picture attached below. :P (Posting interface for new media, as you can see, WYSIWYG is functional.)

Yeah, probably, when I get the alpha out, PM me. :)
Anyways, I have the comment system completed, all insert pages done, rating system finished, just about everything is done. What I still need to do though is:
* Create Editting Interfaces so you can delete comments, media, edit media, edit comments.
* Create the Backend. (Administration)
* Intergrate AJAX to the interface, including quick edit and instant reply. (I am going to flag this for Alpha 2)
* Template Phrasing (Flagged for RC or Final)

and how would it choose whats plaid then ? the radio station would have to have all the files listed and categorized then it would have to send a request to the system to callthe song you want on a request. that isnt gonna happen with shoutcast or most online radio stations

I think you should just release it with the bugs and just keep updating it. I'm really desperate for this.
Please PM me if you want to private beta. I have an explanation below, but I'm not going to be able to work as long as I expected. Ill give a select number of people the files to test out, but please not that Media Editting is not fully working yet and the system is very buggy.
I've had one of the most miserable weeks of my life and well, I can't concentrate at all on coding. My personal life is a mess and I can hardly remember how to comment out a line.
But, I did get something done earlier today, in my experimental version I have quick edit almost working for comments, I also may include an extreme page loading feature that you can turn on and off via the ACP.
So, if I can get myself to code any, since there is a private beta, I am going to release a wicked version for you guys for final.
Feature Set (With progress as well.)
AJAX search as well as a search database (Will be full text search only for the first release, I will have it use the vB option on whether full text search should be used or not in a later version.) 0%
AJAX Quick Reply For Comments 10%
AJAX Quick Edit For Comments 57%
Rating System (Optimized) 100%
All WYSIWYG editors 96% (alot of bugs)
Media Index Pagination 100% (Optimized)
Extention Detection - You can add allowed extensions to the video and audio formats, it will sort each automatically and dub it and process it correctly. Also Security that prehibits a user from linking to or uploading a non allowed extension. 100% (Non Optimized)
Media Description - you can add a description for your item 100%, may be buggy.
Top Lists - Most Viewed Media + Top Rated Media 100% (Optimized)
Media Index Display options - How many entries would you like to show perpage, ascending, descending, and order by what? (Artist,Media Name, submission date, description, submitter, number of views.) 100%
Ability to delete comments 100%
Ability to edit and delete media 10% (I finished this but power went out and I lost the code for it, so I have to recode it.)
Administrator Fast Pass (Administrators have access to all important moderating features, even if the usergroup settings tell it otherwise) I may switch this over so the person has to be a Super Admin, I am not sure though. 100%
Good night. :\
By the way, if you would like to donate for the holidays. :P
