On my search for a alternative to vBa and vBPortal i have found MKPortal (http://www.mkportal.it) which is is a free Portal/Content Management System (CMS) which seamlessly integrates with the most popular forum softwares (Simple Machines, Invision Power Board 1.3 and 2.x, phpBB, and vBulletin). It uses the forum user management system and other features and adds many powerful modules to create and manage a light but powerful web site. MKPortal has an intuitive user interface and is very simple to install and administer.
MKPortal Features:
* Full integration with forum member database. No double-logins!
* Valid xhtml and css
* Forum Themes/Skins importing (use forum skins for portal)
* User-selectable Themes/Skins (lets members choose portal and forum skins)
* User-selectable Languages (lets members choose portal and forum language)
* More than 25 Portal blocks included with the ability to create custom html and php blocks
* Create custom html and php internal pages
Included Modules:
* Blog (give members their own hosted, full-featured blog)
* Gallery (upload, manage, rate and comment images with categories)
* Shoutbox (post messages in the style of a guestbook and display them globally in the header)
* Downloads (upload, manage, rate and comment files with categories)
* News (create, manage, rate and comment news articles with categories)
* TopSite (upload, manage, and rate website link banners)
* Reviews (create, manage, rate and comment reviews with categories)
* Quotes (create and manage quotes)
* Chat (chat online with other users directly from your portal)
It works fine (even with 3.5.1) and gives a lot Features that the others did not have.
I thought it might be interesting someone else .. this is why i posted it here.
Anyone here that used it, except me, and would like to exchange his experiences with the others ?

You need to attach a working download, no download on the site, no reason to have a hack just to advertise.

Hmmm... ok then please delete this Thread. :ermm:
Just want to give a Tip to the other ones or is there a place where i can post it ? Then it would be nice if you move it there.

Nice ! ;) Thx ... !
I requested "Meo" the Developer to release it here by him but i don?t think that there is a Chance. This Project is to Big to make a second Support here.
53 hits and only 3 votings ??

Amazing - 4 Hits at the Poll - but 78 Hits !
Amazing - there are so many vBulletin Owners that are crying for a free Gallery, Download Section, Linklist, Portal but nobody has to say something here about ?? :surprised:

For everything User related it uses the complete vBulletin Engine. There is no own Usermanagement.
Example - if you klick on PM or. Profiles on MKPortal you will see the vBulletin Fields.

What i see in this thread is nothing more then an advertisement, with a Poll added to justify it by the rules.
Would have been different if you made a post in which you really tried to compair the different products and asked opinions about each of them.
If you do a search here on the forums, you will find that mkportal is not a unknown product among our members, so i fail to see the reason of this post, other then to advertise.

Hi MarcoH64,
this was not what i want.
My english is not the best so it was the easiest way for met to take the Discription from the english MKPortal Site.
What i want is to start/make a Post similar to vBadvanced and this Thread was the only way as i cant add the Download here.
The Pool is in my Eyes nothing more then the "Install" Button in this Case.

@Ramsesx - why paying money if there is a alternative Suite with more Features that?s free ? ;)
The next Features that are alleready in development are a Wikimedia Integration as you can see here :
http://www.mkportal.it/mkportal/modules/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page
And there is allready a full Coppermine Integration available :

This is looking very nice. The only thing i see missing is style integration with vbulletin. I might have to try this out. Does the gallery also integrate with vb?
redlabour
11-22-2005, 03:51 AM
The Standardstyle is fully integrated - other Styles can simply integrated by HTML Templates. Most parts are Copy & Paste then.
The MKGallerie is of course fully integrated and there is a seperated Coppermine Port for MKportal that is fully integrated too.
A MediaWiki Port is i Development and there is a PNArcade Port as well.
